A note from a client.

We received an email from clients whose home is currently somewhere between what it was and what it will become.

Walls open. Framing and rough-ins underway. Windows are being delivered.

They wrote to thank our team for the communication, collaboration, and attention to detail throughout the process so far. But one line in particular stuck with us:

“You treat it like it’s your own ‘forever’ home.”

Which is about as good a compliment as we can get.

A renovation of this scale is complex, with many moving pieces, and not all of it is particularly glamorous.

What matters to us is that our clients feel involved and looked after through it all. That they feel confident that details are thought through and corners aren’t cut. This way the process actually becomes enjoyable.

Not cheap, but fun. Their words, not ours.😉

The dog days of summer.

We’ve been a little quiet on the gram, largely due to being a little busy on site!

Calgary has some of the most beautiful neighbourhoods, incredible local talent, and families who care deeply about their homes.

Paying respect to what came first.

Before this lot becomes home to a new custom bungalow, we wanted to give a little appreciation to the original house that stood here first—creepy shower and questionable basement decisions included.

As builders, we never take tearing down a home lightly.

We have a deep respect for the character and history of these older Calgary homes, and whenever possible, we believe in renovating and repurposing rather than replacing.

But sometimes a home has reached the point where a new chapter makes the most sense for the family living there now.

The goal moving forward is to build something that still feels connected to the neighbourhood, a home that respects the character of the area while creating a more functional space for modern living.

A little less 60’s basement bar (we love to see it!).

Another sign up! 👀

This will officially be our second project in Calgary’s NW, and our first new build north of the river.

Not saying the north has won us over... but we’re starting to see why people are so loyal to their quadrant.

Very grateful for the opportunities coming our way right now and excited to get this one rolling!

There is a timeless magic in Mid-Century Modern design.

The way it prioritizes light, honours raw materials, and blurs the boundary between indoors and out.

With Studio 87, the intention was never to replicate the past, but to evolve it for how we live today.

At the heart of the design is a defining architectural gesture: an asymmetric roofline that brings both movement and purpose to the home’s form.

Through varied roof heights and carefully placed clerestory windows, each space is designed to feel bright, open, and connected, while maintaining a sense of privacy and retreat.

It’s a quiet balance of form and function.

A nod to the masters, reimagined through a contemporary lens, with performance, efficiency, and livability at its core.

This is where architecture sets the tone for everything that follows.
