Spent the day at our friends at Car Zone Calgary doing a complete lighting overhaul.
Replaced all the old metal halide fixtures with super efficient Lithonia high bay LED ones. With the disconnection of each ballast, the distracting buzz got better and better, until eventual silence.
We also spruced up the detailing area with 4 surface mount LEDs you could operate under and added a high output security light out back by the entrance to the vehicle yard.
If you are looking for a quick facelift on your shop, consider the lighting. These lights are a steal, they impove the quality of your work space with better light and less white noise, while saving money on your energy bills.

With the panels terminated, it's time to start lighting her up!
Anyone notice how you can follow the same wire from the ceiling down to the point of entry in the panel?
Go take a look at your panel for a quick comparison... I'll wait...
Being one of the only places our work can be seen, this is a good place to get a feel for the electrical workmanship in the rest of your house.

Rough in complete on this beauty!
Its moving very quick with boarding starting next week. We should have quite the collection of pictures to post at that point. Rough in shots are boring for everyone but us though, so we took a few from the exterior finishing. Soffits are up, so we started with the 28 exterior potlights. This one is going to light up like a christmas tree when we're finished.
The heights you get used to, but a harness is important way up there!

New 200 amp service upgrade is good to go. The rest of the house is coming along nicely too.
We're looking forward to getting it wired up in a couple weeks!

Quick panel clean up for the insurance company.
Its still not the best looking service, but at least its not one of the worst anymore.
It's coming out in a few months and being relocated, so for now this is as good as she gets.

When I finish something that makes the job feel artistic in any way, I like to share it... as some may have seen in the past.
This industrial style pipe/fixture combo was custom built on the ground, painted, disassembled and rebuilt on the ceiling.
The eight pendants blend seamlessly with the pipe, making it seem as one giant fixture.
It was a fun little build.

It's nice when your talents or skills can come together. Here we have my brothers garage, where many a night have been spent making music and having good times.
He decided that we deserve a nice space to practice and that his neighbors could use a little more insulation between them and us in the later evening hours.
So here's the progress.
On our end we have 10 low voltage lights in and around the stage including 2 custom gas lantern lights. We also have wired for 4 stage lights, 6 more in the open area, a from scratch wagon wheel chandelier, adequate ventilation/exterior lighting and enough power to make a lot of noise!
We cant wait to try it out once it's done!

New site start up... only 4750 sq' 😮
This house currently boasts a 116' footing wall and crater to fill in the garage, but it will soon be something pretty jaw dropping!
