Patchwork Dining Table made from the Largest Walnut Tree in Recorded History
We were fortunate enough to acquire one of the largest slabs from the Sauvie Island tree that was salvaged by Goby Walnut
This tree grew to an impressive height exceeding 100 feet, and had a trunk circumference of 27 feet.
Sadly, the tree began to show signs of decline due to thousand cankers disease, which ultimately resulted in its removal.
Our client for this table gave us full creative freedom when it came to the design. We felt the patchwork approach was best as it allowed us to utilize the maximum amount of material possible for this size of table. As much as we love resin, this table was about the wood.
