So this guitar has an interesting story, I originally purchased the neck on a used guitar off Kijiji in 2010 and a friend notified my that it was a valuable neck. Turns out that it was manufactured by ESP but under the Kramer name so EVH was able to use one as part of his Hot for Teacher guitar you can see on http://www.vintagekramer.com/5150f.htm
This neck is very unique for a few reasons, first that it was outsourced by a major company in the 80’s, by an equally reputable company, and used for one of the most iconic rock albums of all time. As a result it has an irregular bolt pattern for a Kramer, something I didn't want to alter. It is made from one piece of maple that was 30x6x2 based on the dimensions and way its cut (twice the thickness and width of most neck blanks), The scale length is also 24 3/4” like a Gibson (Kramer's are 25.5”), and a 38mm Floyd locking nut. The owner and myself wanted to keep the neck as original as possible so nothing on the neck has been modified except a fret levelling.
I always held on to this neck in the hopes it would one day be used for the right owner, who wanted nothing less than a tribute to that original EVH mod. I couldn't be more pleased with the results 👌 Ryan and I play together in and we just released a new single recorded in the Rolling Stones mobile studio.
