​Sure, losing a tree sucks, but look at the silver lining—it’s the perfect excuse to rip it out and finally build the front entry garden of your dreams.

​📍 Calgary Gardening Tip: Know Your Zone (Zones 2–3)

​Check the Hardiness: Always ensure the plants you choose are rated for Zone 2 or 3.

​Avoid Regret: Plants rated for warmer zones will struggle to survive our harsh winters.

​The Exception: If you fall in love with a tender plant, be prepared to put in the work! You'll need to provide extra winter shelter or bring it indoors.

The biggest lie ever sold in lawn and garden care. 🛑👇

​Don't get me wrong—landscape fabric has its place (like under gravel or behind a retaining wall for separation). But putting it under mulch to "stop w**ds forever"? It’s a myth.

​Here is what actually happens over time:
- ​Organic matter builds up: Dust, dirt, and decomposing mulch create a perfect new layer of soil on top of the fabric.
- ​Weeds seed from above: Wind blows w**d seeds right into that new top layer.
- ​The root trap: As those w**ds grow, their roots push down through the woven fabric. Meanwhile, aggressive grasses push up from underneath.

​The result? Exactly what you see in this video: a plastic-infused root mattress that chokes your soil, starves it of oxygen, and turns a simple w**ding job into a back-breaking demolition project.
