It’s Small Business Week! 🇨🇦

Small businesses are at the heart of our communities. They create local jobs, support other local businesses, sponsor community events, and - most importantly - build relationships with the people and communities they serve.

At DKI Helferty’s, we’re proud to have been serving Renfrew County and surrounding communities for more than 50 years. We’ve had the opportunity to work alongside countless homeowners, businesses, organizations, and fellow local businesses over the years, and we’re grateful to be part of such a strong community.

This week, we’re celebrating not just our own business, but all the small businesses that keep our communities moving.

Consider shopping local, hiring local, and supporting the small businesses in your community whenever you can. ❤️

Happy Small Business Week!

🔥 It’s Fire Prevention Week.

After years of responding to house fires, there’s something we wish more people knew: fire damage doesn’t always stop where the flames do.

Smoke and soot can travel throughout a home, affecting areas far beyond where the fire started. They can also leave behind lingering odours and impact indoor air quality - even in rooms that appear untouched.

If a fire occurs, don’t assume a room is unaffected just because it looks okay. Have the damage professionally assessed before getting back to normal.

Not sure what’s been affected? Give us a call. Our team can assess the damage and help determine what needs to be done to properly restore your home.

We can help.

🍂 Before you lock the door for the season, take a few extra minutes to protect your cottage.

As another cottage season comes to an end, it's easy to pack up, turn the key, and head home. But skipping a few important shutdown steps now could lead to an unwelcome surprise when you return next spring.

Taking the time to drain your water lines, shut off the water supply, and properly winterize your cottage can help prevent frozen pipes and costly water damage over the winter months.

A little preparation today can make all the difference when the snow melts.

If you discover water damage when you open up next season or if you're unsure whether everything has been shut down properly, our team is here to help. We work directly with insurance companies and are available 24/7 for emergency restoration services.

Last week, the DKI Helferty's team was proud to support the OVAA Golf Tournament as the Lunch Sponsor.

Each year, this event brings together members of the insurance industry for a great day of networking, community, and giving back. This year's tournament supported the Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC), a Canadian organization that unites the insurance community to fund cancer research, support patients, and provide education.

We're grateful for the opportunity to be part of an event that makes such a meaningful impact, and we'd like to thank the Ottawa Valley Adjusters Association for another successful tournament.

Congratulations to everyone involved, and thank you for all you do to support such an important cause. 💙⛳
