Sand? In the winter? Why?

I'll tell you why and It's not for sand castles 😁

Sand is coarse and the particles are gritty in nature, these factors increase friction as opposed to ice's smooth/slick texture. More friction = more grip, more grip = less slip! Secondly, when the sand is stepped on it embeds itself into the ice further increasing it's effects.
Spread some sand on your frozen driveway to make it safer

If you don't have sand, here at FT3 we also offer to disperse sand on finished driveways and stairs for free. All you have to do is ask!

Do you know how your snow salt melts ice?

Well when the salt(sodium chloride) mixes with ice/water it lowers the freezing point causing the ice to melt and stay a liquid for colder temperatures!

Pretty...cool huh

Speaking of salt, here at FT3 we offer free regular salt for your driveway if requested. Pet friendly salt has a small fee of $5.
