What was once an underutilized space at Guelph City Hall is now a welcoming, functional courtyard designed for everyday use—and special moments alike.

This project came with unique challenges. With an active parking garage below and City Hall operating throughout construction, all work had to be completed during evenings and weekends to minimize disruption. Access was limited to long interior hallways, so we brought everything in by hand. Even the historic city bell required a carefully coordinated crane lift and downtown street closure.

From waterproofing and pavers to planters, water features, pergolas, furnishings, and planting, every detail was thoughtfully planned and precisely executed.

Today, the courtyard is a vibrant outdoor space that serves City Hall staff and the wider community—hosting everything from quiet breaks to public events and wedding ceremonies. We’re proud not only of how the space looks, but of how seamlessly the city, architects, and project partners worked together to bring it to life.

This was a cool moment for our team. A few of our projects—West Oval, Woodend, and Crestview—were featured in this year’s Permacon catalogue.

It’s always an honour to have work recognized like this, but more than anything, it reflects what can happen when great clients, thoughtful design, and a dedicated team come together.

We’re grateful to have been part of bringing these spaces to life—and even more so knowing they’re places these families get to enjoy every day.

If there was ever a space built for slowing down, this is it.

Hop in, loosen your muscles, quiet your mind… let the week melt away.
This tucked-away hot tub nook is exactly that—private, peaceful, and covered for year-round enjoyment. The kind of spot you slip into after a long day and instantly breathe a little deeper.

When your outdoor space is intentionally designed around how you want to live, features like this become everyday luxuries—right outside your door.

If you’ve ever thought “one day…”—consider this your sign.
You deserve a space that helps you recharge. Let’s make it happen.

A backyard with more than one perfect spot? Sign us up.

Out here, every corner offers its own kind of escape—each one inviting you to slow down and settle in, just in different ways.

Maybe it’s an easy afternoon under the shade, catching up with friends while keeping half an eye on the game. Or a lively summer barbecue, kids splashing in the pool while dinner sizzles on the grill. Later, everything winds down with the soft glow of the fireplace, a blanket over your lap, and a bottle of wine finally opened.

In a well-designed outdoor space, no two moments have to feel the same.

If you’ve been dreaming about your own pockets of paradise, let’s bring them to life.

This was a special project for us to be part of.

Last year, we had the opportunity to play a role in restoring and reinstalling the Centennial Totem Pole—originally carved in 1966 by Kwakwa̱ka̱ʼwakw artist Doug Cranmer to mark Canada’s Centennial.

After decades outside in the elements, the totem pole had begun to deteriorate.

The City of St. Catharines led a collaborative effort to restore it alongside several community partners, bringing in Kwakwa̱ka̱ʼwakw artist Bruce Alfred to guide the restoration.

It’s now been given new life inside Canada Games Park, where it can be protected and appreciated for generations to come.

Our role was as general contractor—supporting the final stage of the project, including transporting the 42-foot pole, bringing it into the facility, and safely lifting and securing it into place. A complex install in an active building, with safety at the forefront from start to finish.

We’re grateful to have played a small part in a project that means so much to the community.

CNLA Reveals 2026 Circle of Excellence

15 landscape projects across Canada will take centre stage in Newfoundland this summer.

Milton, Ont. — The Canadian Nursery Landscape Association (CNLA) is proud to reveal the 15 outstanding landscape projects from across the country selected as the 2026 Circle of Excellence. These projects will take centre stage at this summer’s National Awards of Landscape Excellence (NALE), held August 11-12 in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

The NALE is one of the most prestigious events in Canada’s horticultural industry, bringing together about 200 professionals representing suppliers, partners, and representatives from the national association’s more than 4,000 member companies. The gala on August 11 celebrates the people and companies behind the country’s top landscape construction, design, and maintenance projects.

Each year, companies from across Canada submit projects through their provincial association’s awards of excellence programs. Provincial associations then forward up to three entries per category to the national competition. A panel of industry experts evaluates the submissions, selecting the highest-scoring projects to form the Circle of Excellence.

The 15 projects named to the 2026 Circle of Excellence represent the top scores in each of the five award categories. While all are recognized as national leaders, the top project in each category will be revealed live during the awards gala on August 11 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott in St. John’s.

These homeowners had a clear wish list: a swimming pool, a covered spot to watch baseball games, and a space that actually felt finished and cohesive. Several other contractors told them it couldn’t be done. Too small. Too tight. Too much bedrock.

We said, “No problem.” When you’re working with a downtown-sized backyard, some contractors see restrictions. We see opportunities—inspiration for real creativity.

We designed and built the entire space, from the pool itself to the renovated garage-turned-outdoor-living-room. Yes, we hit bedrock. And yes, we broke through it. We tucked all the pool equipment under the deck to save space. We reworked the garage with new siding, roofing, windows, and doors so it felt like part of the plan.

When the project wrapped, the homeowners were over the moon. Their tiny backyard became the place they spend their best evenings.

We love this one because it proves what we believe: if there’s a way to make it happen, we’ll find it. Always.

The best outdoor spaces aren’t defined by just one feature—they’re the result of many thoughtful details working together. And this project is a perfect example.

For this historic 1820s property, the goal was to create a landscape that felt timeless yet completely renewed. A new custom garage and widened driveway redefined the flow of the lot, while modern patios, a composite deck, and a dedicated fire feature area created distinct zones for everyday living.

Look a little closer and you’ll see how the details tie it all together—natural stone borders, stepping-stone pathways, raised planters, and layered plantings that soften the space and add year-round texture. Every element has a purpose, working in balance with the character of the home.

Swipe to explore each feature up close and see how thoughtful design turns a beautiful property into a truly functional one.

Thinking about refreshing your own outdoor space? Let’s start the conversation!

Patios, decks, and pavilions are the stages for so much of what you love about being outdoors.

This is where friends gather for summer dinners. Where birthdays are celebrated and baby showers are hosted. Where you sneak out with a morning coffee before the house wakes up. Where fall evenings stretch a little longer under the glow and shelter of a pavilion roof.

When an outdoor space is intentionally designed, it becomes a natural extension of your home. And anyone who has one will tell you—it invites you to slow down, linger, and enjoy the season you’re in.
