From Two Garage Doors to One Seamless Opening
Another project completed by Stone Worx Masonry Inc.
We were proud to work alongside Kurb Appeal on this garage conversion project, transforming two separate garage door openings into one larger opening while maintaining the home's original stone appearance.

Projects like this require careful dismantling, structural modifications, and precise stone matching. Our goal was to ensure the new stonework blended naturally with the existing façade, creating a finished product that looks like it was always part of the original design.

A special thank you to Kurb Appeal for the opportunity and for trusting Stone Worx Masonry Inc. with the stonework portion of this renovation.

I'd also like to recognize Gavin Pope, who completed much of the stone installation on this project. His attention to detail and craftsmanship helped bring this transformation together.
We're proud of the final result and look forward to collaborating on future projects.

Great start to the Victoria Day weekend this morning at the Breakwater parkrun in Kingston.

Proud to have set a new 5K personal best with a time of 22:29.

Running has become an important part of staying disciplined both mentally and physically outside of the masonry trade. Always great seeing the local running community out supporting each other.

Looking back on last weekend.

Ran the Limestone Race Weekend 10km on Saturday, then followed it up Sunday with a memorial run in honour of Salehe Akbari.

Grateful to be part of a community that shows up, for both challenges and support when it matters most.

At Stone Worx, we bring that same mindset into our work, showing up, doing things properly, and not cutting corners.

Fireplace transformation completed.

We were brought in to correct and complete a previous installation that wasn’t achieving the look the homeowners had in mind.

The focus was on reworking the layout, improving flow, and creating a more balanced, intentional finish. With the right pattern and joint detailing, the entire feature came together the way it should have from the start.

Big credit to my apprentice Gavin Pope on this one, he handled a large portion of the install and executed it well.

This is what proper layout and experience bring to the table. Same material… completely different result.

This custom fireplace build was featured in KL Interiors Magazine (Fall 2022 issue) completed in a beautifully renovated old stone home here in Kingston.

Projects like this are about more than just appearance. The goal was to create a full-height stone feature that ties into the structure and surrounding space while ensuring long-term durability.

The integration with the exposed timber beam and overall layout was key to making this fireplace feel like part of the home,not something added afterward.

Had a great morning speaking with Grade 9 & 10 students at Regiopolis-Notre Dame about getting into the skilled trades.
Honestly, it reminded me how important it is to show young people what’s actually possible outside the “traditional” path.
I started masonry at 16, and it turned into building a business I’m proud of today.
Trades aren’t just a backup option, they can be a strong path forward if you’re willing to put in the work.
Big thanks to the Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce for putting this together and bringing in a great group of people.
