Structural pruning is important in a tree's early years to:

• Build strength
• Prevent storm damage
• Extend lifespan
• Reduce long-term maintenance

A properly structured tree can live generations longer.

Leaving native plants standing through winter does more than “look natural.” It feeds the ecosystem.

During this week’s snowstorm we watched a hungry bird hopping through our Bee Balm (Monarda) seed heads — finding calories right when it matters most.

🌱 Native perennials hold seed all winter that feed birds when insects are scarce
❄️ Stems trap snow which helps insulate soil
🦋 Seed heads support overwintering insects

If you want healthier birds, butterflies, and pollinators in the spring, then resist the urge to cut and clean in the fall. The circle-of-life goes all year round!

Let nature do its work.

What Eco-Landscaping Means to Us

🌿 Eco-landscaping doesn’t mean “all native or nothing.”

It means:
• the right plant in the right place
• non-invasive ornamentals used thoughtfully
• water used wisely
• a space for birds, bees, and butterflies

A healthy landscape can be both practical and beautiful — without extremes.
