We're proud to celebrate Matt Schouten as the first employee to reach 15 years with Caliber Projects.

Matt joined Caliber in 2011 as a Carpenter Foreman and quickly grew into his role as Superintendent, becoming an integral part of our team and the projects we deliver.

Over the years, Matt has helped deliver a wide range of projects, shared his construction knowledge, and invested time in mentoring the people working alongside him.

We're grateful for the experience, leadership, and care he continues to bring to our job sites.

Caliber is looking to hire a Development Accountant to join our Caliber Communities team in Langley.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on organization, accuracy, and keeping a clear picture of project financials. If you are a detail-oriented accounting professional who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and enjoys working across development, construction, and finance teams, this could be a great fit.

You will be doing things like:

🔹 Managing job costing and budgets across active land development and homebuilding projects
🔹 Preparing monthly project draws and reconciling budgets against actual spend
🔹 Tracking budget-to-actual variances and helping keep project forecasts current
🔹 Reviewing project invoices and coordinating with vendors and internal teams
🔹 Preparing monthly and quarterly project financial reporting
🔹 Supporting reconciliations, month-end and year-end close, and process improvements

We are looking for someone who:

✔ Has 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally in real estate development, homebuilding, or construction
✔ Holds a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
✔ Is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines
✔ Has strong Excel skills and experience with job cost or ERP systems
✔ Communicates clearly and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

🏗️ Yesterday marked an important next chapter for LIVY and Downtown PoCo.

We were joined on site by Mayor Brad West , City of Port Coquitlam , Council and officials, our project team, partners, and investors to mark LIVY’s transition into active construction.

From acquiring the previously stalled project to redesigning it, bringing 102 homes to market and moving into active construction, the process took just 17 months, about 60% faster than the typical timeline for a comparable project.

“There are still opportunities in this market. There are still great sites and buyers looking for their perfect homes. Projects can move forward, but only when the fundamentals are right, and the right team is prepared to solve problems rather than stay on the sidelines waiting for perfect conditions. I hope LIVY gives people in our industry renewed confidence, as it is an example of what can be done,” shared NorthStar President Gordon Wylie.

Buyer activity is reinforcing that confidence:
🏠 LIVY has represented approximately 83% of new home sales in PoCo
🏙️ Across the Tri-Cities, LIVY’s share of new home sales is approximately 20% across 37 projects
🔑 Approximately 60% of purchasers are first-time buyers

We’re proud to see two members of the Caliber team named finalists for the 2026 40 Under 40 Industrial Leaders awards, presented by SiteNews.

Brandon Losse has spent his career identifying opportunities, building trusting relationships, and helping construction companies grow. He has helped organizations enter new markets, build new partnerships and create new opportunities throughout his career, and continues that work today at Caliber.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about creating safe, organized, and productive job sites. If you are a hands-on safety professional who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and enjoys working alongside site teams to build a strong safety culture, this could be a great fit.

You will be doing things like:

🔹 Conducting site inspections, identifying risks, and supporting corrective actions

🔹 Leading safety orientations, toolbox meetings, and safety communications

🔹 Ensuring safety documentation, training records, and certifications are up to date
