A few years ago I did this job that turned out much bigger than expected, now I finally post it here.
Opened up the wall from the outside, stripping siding and the old white styrofoam, to find so much more rotten wood than expected; it was barely even holding itself up.
Took down and framed pretty much the entire wall new again, including the rim joist and some truss ends that were rotten. Put the windows back in, new poly, insulation, and sheeting.
Replaced the styrofoam insulation and put on the sofit, fascia gutter and siding again as they were usable and requested rather than all new. So no it looks like nothing ever happened.
Moving on to this 30 foot deck, replacing joists and building new partial walls and floor from Fir that was cut to order for it. I already fixed up the roof prior so each new post was put in while independently supporting the roof. The entire thing was wrapped in a tarp to keep out the snow and cold while work was done.
