Every summer we head up to Lighthouse Landing Camp🛶 for Veg Out Week 🌱❤️
And one of my favourite discoveries this year?
I met Asher when he was 5. He’s 11 now and apparently an entrepreneur
Asher’s Artisanal Paletas 🌴
Strawberry, pineapple, coconut, Oreo, chocolate peanut butter banana, s’more with BLOWTORCHED vegan marshmallows 👀…and even a green vanilla paleta with pea protein.

Naturally, I sampled several because I believe in science. 😬
Strawberry got a full WOO WOO from me.
But my favourite part: proceeds from every sale go to Canadian Aid for South Sudan. 🥹
Then, after I told him I wanted to buy his paleta hat, he gave me his. ❤️ It’s coming home and going straight into my office.
Sometimes all you need is a blender, a blowtorch and a really good idea.
This guy is going places. And I’m inspired by him. ❤️

At True Leaves we don’t just talk about food innovation all day every day…we create it.

To showcase our PD skills, our team developed 4 custom powdered concepts that demonstrate different formats, flavour profiles, and applications:
🥭 Solar Flare – Mango Tamarind Smoothie
Sweet mango, tangy tamarind and lime, and a touch of heat. Pumpkin seed aka because tradition matters. Also, featuring oat milk powder for light creaminess that’s not too heavy.
✨ Liquid Gold – Saffron Golden Broth
A warming savoury broth with buttermilk for depth and freeze dried shallots, ginger, garlic, turmeric and of course saffron. Pea peptides and micro-greens for extra nutrition. We like this used in risotto.
🍄 Dark Matter – Umami Mushroom Miso Soup
Deep, rich umami bomb flavours designed for ultimate comfort. Wild mushrooms, seaweed ACV, miso, chives. Only for the serious foodie.
🥜 Ground Zero – Cocoa Peanut Butter Banana Porridge
Just add water! A nourishing breakfast that’s cocoa forward with peanut and banana dancing in the background. Buckwheat, rice, and millet will leave you feeling full & happy.

These aren’t just samples that look good and taste really delicious too 👀
They are examples of what’s possible when science, creativity, and commercialization expertise come together.
