While I love wildlife, the rabbits have been overzealous this year. These masses of Goldsturm Black-Eyed Susan and Purple Coneflower plants were full and gorgeous - full of blooms, now reduced to unsightly sticks. Within a week, the flowers had been consumed.

Interestingly, the native Black-Eyed Susan, Rudbeckia hirta, were not touched at all!

To add a layer of visual warmth to the exposed aggregate concrete, stone wall and fieldstone boulders, the longboard cladding on the lower wall ties back into the house façade.

Layering varying shades of green from silvery blue Fescues to the dark green evergreens and textures from thick succulent-like leaves to ornamental grasses to ferns, plants add depth and visual interest. Plants add a softness and life to ground the architecture in the landscape.
