Just finished a masonry repair on a retaining wall! This is a wall that's sitting along the door of an old school cold storage cellar. The door was blocked when I got there and the entryway was a mess with big collapsed chunks of cemented stones.

A big part of this job was dirt removal and replacing with medium to small stones to massively increase drainage so the mortar in the wall doesn't get soaked and also so it doesn't have to hold up hundreds of pounds of saturated and frozen dirt for long periods of times.

I'm pleased with how this turned out! It's much more functional, safe and resilient to the elements now.

Did an adorable little brick masonry job in Creston! Thanks to Sue Creswell for the opportunity.

I loved this job! Her and her partner purchased reclaimed clay bricks from an old building in Calgary and wanted to put them to use on the property. It's a simple step down brick wall to give the arbor a pad so the grapes can climb on it and give structure for the gravel to hold planter pots along the driveway!

I laid the bricks on strips of good quality galvanized wire fencing for proper foundation structure similar to rebar on a concrete pad, to help hold all the mortar together through frost cycles. There was a good amount of back fill, gravel leveling and shaping to do to make this a nice level step down wall with proper drainage and it worked! So stoked!

Drywall and painting done on the bathroom reduild! I finished hooking up the tub shower combo and got right to hanging drywall.

It turned out solid! I was mostly concerned about how the logs across the ceiling would look but it looks good! A little bit more clean up and then for the finale. A bit of tiling and then my favourite, the finish carpentry!

Fun, simple little stone masonry job I did around a fireplace in an Air BNB cabin. The decorative rocks were sitting on the hearth loose with not much rhyme or reason so I thought I would set them in with some mortar and a little more style! Turned out good! Not perfect but a solid upgrade.

Deck reno done! Not all decks need to be torn down and this one was still structurally sound for the majority. I replaced half a dozen floor joists, did repairs and reinforcements on the floating walk around side and gave it all a new lid!

All in all, it turned out good for a restoration. I am pleased!

Shout-out to my neighbor Darcy for giving me a boost the first morning, you are a gem!

Bathroom reduild! Framing done. I showed up to this bathroom like this. It had old copper pipes burst and did a lot of damage to the walls and part of the floor. No worries though! I am on it.

It was mostly old paneling inside and outside and now it is reconfigured to accept drywall. More to come!

Cute little project I did for my friend Hannah. Made a nice shelf and a sweet entryway bench for her! Simple, clean, sturdy and functional. It was a blast making these. She has a great spot for her VHS tapes now!

She'll be sanding them down and adding her own choice of stain on the pieces, which will make them truly hers! Thanks for the opportunity Hannah!

This is a sweet little project I did! Made a roof rack for the Corolla out of recycled lumber! It was a great way to use discarded boards that were gonna go to the dump. The ratchet straps are on there temporarily until I fasten it with proper U bolts but ya'll get the idea! I love this thing.

What a victory today! It was very exciting getting the water hooked back up to the old farmhouse! Some funky transitions from PVC to ABS and back to PVC but made it work! Not much room for error.

I lined the pipes with a channel of well placed rocks for a little extra structure when the line gets buried. All I needed was my parts backpack with my homemade pipe jig strapped to it and some hand tools. More to come on the farmhouse project! Stay tuned!
