I have been endlessly fascinated by the bees on my helenium autumnale. Not only are they constantly feeding on the nectar and pollen during the day, but a few each night have been sleeping on the flowers or in the crotches of the leaves. I kid you not! I am completely enchanted!
Helenium autumnal is a native Ontario plant in the asteracaea family. Native plants are vitally important for helping to support native fauna.
