My new cookstove!!!!! So excited for this restoration project!

Its a Belanger "La Salle" in Mint - Seafoam Green!

Shes a beauty!!!! 🥰🥰🥰 - Yes, I do plan to restore this and put it to use in my kitchen someday! It already has a story to go with it! .... a VERY LONG drive but SO WORTH IT!! Thank goodness for a stranger with a backhoe!

From what I can find on history, these cookstoves were made in Quebec, from 1933-1938. It is equipped with accessories; the towel holder, hot water reservoir, the hook up at the back for water pipes for hot water lines for dish and bath water throughout the home and the bread warmer that is equipped with mirrors, open spice cabinet with orginal canisters and a timer which still works!! 😀

Its in rough shape, Difficult to find parts for but not impossible to fix! Anything is possible in my mind! I am very determined that this beauty will roast a chicken and bake a cake again in the future! Maybe not next week... but in the future for sure!

So excited to make homemade butter the traditional way using a dasher butter churn!!! 🧈

This butter churn was hand made by a Cooper tradesman! Purchased from Townsends! Which by the way, have an incredible selection of historically accurate items!

Happy Friday!

It's a cozy day on the homestead!

I've got the kettle on the woodstove, about to brew some homegrown spearmint tea from my garden! This is my handmade tin kettle from C&C Sutlery !

..Normally I would take the grate off to boil faster, however my kettle is a little too big to fit, so it just takes a little longer, but its worth the wait! ... This kettle is part of something exciting that is coming in the near future, that I can't wait to share with you - Keep in mind my love for the 1870's era! 😉

One of my favourite potato varieties because they're skins are sooo pretty!! These are called Purple Viking! 💜 The inside is pure white! They hold up well in storage and taste delicious!
