A great example of a beautiful chair with a fatal design flaw. The back has an end grain to edge grain joint that is inherently weak. When the chair gets tipped over it invariably breaks right at the joint. This chair had been repaired once before by simply regluing it but it broke again. The best fix is to splint it on the backside which is a little more invasive but way more effective.

And that’s the whole set done! Nice to be able to weave a seat without the legs and back getting in the way. ...
