It’s that time of year to officially say goodbye to the flowers (and my pumpkin patch)

Everything is getting pulled out of the gardens! I like to spread any leftover compost from the spring as well as compost from my chicken coop over my gardens. I let it all settle over the winter and come spring, I’m *hoping* to plant a cover crop before I tarp out my garden (and extension of the garden! 🎉) to in theory, choke out any spring weeds and grass!

But before Spring comes, comes SEED STARTING! If you’d like any tips or tricks on how to start cut flowers in Zone 4a give my page a follow as I set up for next year’s garden!

Come with me to find out I actually have no clue what a dahlia seed looks like, nor do I know if I have any viable seeds. 🙃

This just goes to show that while yes, water and fertilizer are great, sometimes letting nature do its thing is even better. These dahlias have been a reminder that healthy soil, sunshine, and a little patience often do more than any product ever could. The simplest care can bring out the biggest blooms. 🌸🌿

Can you find the beauty in the imperfections? If so, swing by to grab a free mini bouquet!

These bouquets are end of the season flowers, they may be a little past their best before date, they have imperfections whether that be on the petals, or the stems are too short for a bigger bouquet.

If this sounds right up your alley, throw me a message and I’ll give you the address for pick up!

*they are sitting outside so may start to wilt, totally normal.

This could be our last bucket of the season! What a note to end on 🥰

This is what we would call… a mislabeled tuber 🌻

Sometimes the best surprises come from a little mix-up! 🌸 This dahlia wasn’t what the label promised, but look at her—bold, bright, and absolutely stunning. Garden life loves to keep us on our toes, and honestly, I’m not mad about it. 💛❤️

These handfuls of happiness are slowing down, but that just means I get to start prepping for seed starting! ☀️

I am so incredibly excited for next year! The plans for flowers and a *small* expansion are just too exciting! 🌸

Stay tuned to follow along on my seed starting journey!

“As the season winds down…”
I just want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who supported my little flower farm this year—every order, every kind word, every share means the world to me. 🌸

We’re nearing the end of the growing season now, and these blooms are some of the last you’ll see until next year. If you’d like to bring a piece of this season home, now’s the time!

📩 Message Field.andflower to grab your stems before they’re gone.

Thank you for making this season so special! 💛
