When you finish calculating the total for a roofing estimate and even YOU get scared of the price. 😂🏠💰

“My heart is racing!” 🤣

🧡 Every Child Matters.

Today, our family wears orange to honour the children who attended residential schools, those who never made it home, the Survivors, and the families and communities who continue to carry their stories.

At Weather Guard Roofing Inc., we acknowledge the importance of Truth and Reconciliation and take time to remember, listen, learn, and honour those affected by the residential school system.

From our family to yours, we remember. 🧡

Wearing an orange shirt on September 30th is a meaningful visual show of solidarity, but true reconciliation is an everyday, year-round journey. 🧡

If you are wondering, "What can I do next?", here are a few gentle, practical ways to keep learning, listening, and taking action:

• Read and reflect: Dive into the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action. You do not have to read them all in one sitting—exploring just one or two relevant sections is a great place to start.

• Support Indigenous businesses & creators: Seek out Indigenous-owned businesses, makers, authors, and artists throughout the year, not just in September.

• Learn the land you live and work on: Look up the treaties, traditional territories, and Indigenous heritage of your local community.

• Listen to first-voice stories: Pick up a book by an Indigenous author, listen to an Indigenous-led podcast, or explore films and documentaries by Indigenous creators.

• Keep the conversation going: Talk with family, friends, and colleagues about what reconciliation looks like in our daily routines and workplaces.

Reconciliation doesn't require having all the answers right away—it starts with staying curious, listening with an open heart, and choosing to walk forward together every day.
