Claystone Waste

Claystone Waste Advanced waste management for commercial, municipal, and residential partners in Alberta. For over 30 years, Claystone Waste Ltd.

has provided leading waste management solutions for municipal, commercial, and residential partners in Alberta. Utilizing advanced technology, innovative approaches, and a community-minded outlook, we’re creating sustainable, future-ready waste handling solutions that will make an impact for generations to come. From our leading Sanitary Class II landfill to our state-of-the-art aerated composting

facility (both located in Beaver County, AB,) we are working with partners in Beaver County, the Edmonton Metropolitan Area, and beyond to dispose of or repurpose solid municipal waste, source-separated organic waste, construction and demolition waste, specialized waste, large-scale commercial waste, contaminated soil, and many other kinds of waste. Our network of conveniently-located Transfer Stations offers residents easy ways to dispose of hazardous household waste or drop off materials for recycling. No matter what we do, our priority is always to give back to our communities in the form of dividends and grants, which help to lower residential taxes, support local non-profit organizations, and fund public infrastructure upgrades and renovations. We live and breathe the inner workings of the waste management industry. Join us as we work towards creating a greener tomorrow that everyone can enjoy.

Great news for our growers! We have extended the deadline for the Giant Pumpkin Growing Contest. You now have until midnight on September 7 to submit your entry.

It has been great to see our community getting involved, caring for their plants, and sharing updates. Even with the recent weather in our region, the pumpkins are looking healthy and strong.

We want to send a big thank you to Maple Park Farms for starting and providing the pumpkin plants. Claystone was also happy to supply nutrient-rich compost to help everyone get the best growing results possible.

How to submit your entry:

- Please email your pumpkin's measurements and weight to [email protected].

- Make sure to use the subject line: Giant Pumpkin Submission.

We can't wait to see how large the pumpkins have grown and to crown our champion on September 14.

Good luck to all of our growers! Don't forget to send in your measurements by midnight on September 7!

With August in the rear-view mirror, and kids heading back to school, we are looking back at an amazing summer season in Beaver County! ☀️

At Claystone, we are proud to be your locally owned neighbour and give back to the communities we serve.

Here are a few of our summer highlights:
🥞 Ryley Sports Day & Father's Day Breakfast: We were proud to sponsor the community pancake breakfast and help kick off a weekend of family fun, slo-pitch, and community celebration!

🤠 Bruce Stampede & Parade: We were proud to sponsor this great local tradition and celebrate one of Beaver County's most cherished summer events.

🎯 Ryley SummerFest: We loved being a Gold Sponsor, and our team even braved the dunk tank!

🎃 Giant Pumpkin Contest: Growers, remember to submit your pumpkins by September 5! Winners will be announced September 14.

💰 Community Grants: We awarded $29,000 to local groups! The next application deadline is November 30.
Thank you to everyone who made this summer so special. We look forward to supporting more local events and community initiatives this fall! 🍂

Next up in our Community Grant recipient showcase is the Holden Community Hall Association!

Serving as the social and cultural heart of the Village of Holden, this dedicated association maintains and operates the local community hall—a vital gathering hub for Beaver County residents. From hosting local civic meetings, cultural events, and senior activities to providing a welcoming venue for family celebrations and community fundraisers, their work keeps our rural neighbors connected and engaged.

Claystone Waste is delighted to support the Holden Community Hall Association with this grant, helping them keep this essential facility safe, accessible, and vibrant for years to come.

At Claystone, being a good neighbour in Ryley and Beaver County means always looking for ways to improve how we operate. That is why we use Bettair at our compost facility.

Bettair is a air-quality monitoring system that uses sensors to measure dust, weather conditions, and gases linked to odours in real time.

This technology alerts our team when conditions change, helping us act quickly to manage odours and reduce our impact on the community.

Read our latest blog post to learn more about how this system supports our ongoing odour-management program:

Today, we are proud to feature another Community Grant recipient, the Holden Cemetery Committee. This dedicated group of volunteers plays an essential role in preserving our local history and maintaining a dignified, peaceful resting place for generations of area families. From overseeing ongoing groundskeeping and structural upkeep to preserving historical records and managing plot stewardship, the committee’s compassionate work ensures the Holden Cemetery remains a respectful space of remembrance for the entire Village of Holden and surrounding Beaver County.

Claystone Waste is honored to support the Holden Cemetery Committee with this grant, helping them preserve our shared heritage and maintain these sacred community grounds.
