From Prairie Roots to Global Vision: A Saskatchewan Housing Innovation Launches with Ribbon Cutting March 7th & 8th, 2026
SASKATOON, SK — On March 7th and 8th, something more than a housing launch will unfold in Saskatoon. It will be a celebration of community, innovation, and a bold prairie belief that the future can be built differently.
Wasteyapit Homes and InstaCoating Construction Systems are opening their doors to the public for a two-day community launch and ribbon-cutting ceremony that organizers say represents a turning point for local manufacturing, Indigenous leadership in construction, and next-generation housing designed for Canadian realities.
At the heart of the event is the unveiling of the Infinity Log Home — a lightweight, resilient housing system designed to stand up to Saskatchewan’s toughest elements while creating skilled jobs and long-term economic opportunity at home.
The March 8 ceremony, held on International Women’s Day, will spotlight Indigenous entrepreneur Kimberly Greyeyes, CEO and Co-Founder of Wasteyapit Homes. Greyeyes, who carries deep roots in Treaty 4 and now resides in Treaty 6 territory, says this launch is about more than buildings.
“This is about dignity, opportunity, and bringing innovation home,” said Greyeyes. “We want our young people to see that advanced manufacturing, technology, and housing solutions can be built right here — by us, for our communities.”
Alongside her is Co-Founder and Inventor Randy Janes, whose proprietary protective coating technology enhances durability and longevity of structures in extreme climates. Together, the team envisions scalable production that keeps jobs local, builds skills in advanced materials and prefabrication, and supports economic growth across Saskatchewan.
The homes are engineered to withstand fire, flood, hail, mold, and pests — conditions that increasingly challenge homeowners across the Prairies. But organizers emphasize that resilience is only part of the story.
The deeper goal is community capacity:
• Skilled trades and manufacturing jobs
• Training opportunities for youth and entrepreneurs
• Regional supply chain development
• Housing innovation led from Saskatchewan outward
The two-day public launch will include:
• Official ribbon-cutting ceremonies
• Community celebration and refreshments
• Live demonstrations of housing systems
• Youth inspiration and career pathway conversations
• Prize giveaways and door prizes
• Open dialogue about the future of housing in Saskatchewan
Organizers hope the event sparks broader conversations about housing accessibility, local production, and how Prairie innovation can scale nationally and internationally.
“This is Saskatchewan ingenuity,” said Greyeyes. “We are not waiting for solutions. We are building them.”
