Last Chance to Save The Secret Cove Forest
Attention all Tree Huggers: Our region could be facing the loss of another forest with many old-growth like features to clearcut logging. If you like Big Trees and not Big Stumps then come out to our walk-in-the-woods event. A new trail goes deep into the interior of this forest. Learn about this local unique ecology and what’s at stake.
BC Timber Sales (BCTS) has Blk TA0545 imposed over this area which ELF has been tracking for a few years. BCTS Planners should be aware of its high biodiversity, high recreational values and critical habitat.
This forest is also mapped as an at-risk ecosystem and all things considered should become a protected conservation area. You can make a positive difference by completing a take-action postcard to be distributed to the group.
Our report on The Secret Cove Forest is found at: https://elf-tr.org/2025-elf-reports/
