⚠️ BREAKING: Environment Canada Forecasting ‘High Risk’ for Severe Weather Tonight

According to Environment Canada’s latest thunderstorm outlook, there is a high risk for severe weather across Deep Southwestern Ontario tonight, including Windsor, Sarnia and Chatham.

The primary threats include damaging wind gusts of 100 to 120 km/h, rainfall amounts of 40 to 50 mm and the risk of tornadoes.

Further east across the rest of Southwestern Ontario and portions of the Golden Horseshoe, a moderate risk for severe weather exists. Environment Canada is highlighting the potential for 70 to 90 km/h wind gusts along with 20 to 30 mm of rainfall.

Meanwhile, Eastern and Central Ontario face a minor risk for thunderstorms. A few stronger storms are possible near the Quebec border and into the Ottawa Valley, where Environment Canada is forecasting wind gusts up to 80 km/h and hail up to 1 to 2 cm in diameter.

Thunderstorms are expected to develop early this evening, with the severe weather threat continuing through the overnight hours.
