Another Great review for Fresh Start Hvac:

"Andre is honest, trustworthy and reliable. We replaced the gas furnace, replaced the large tank water heater with a gas tankless water heater, added a central air humidifier and added air returns in rooms that didn't have any air returns for better airflow. When Andre arrived he was upfront with the work he was going to do. He gave us options for better airflow and minimized bulkhead protrusion for better aesthetics. The work took about two weeks. He offered different financing options and stayed within our budget and timeline. We are super happy with the workmanship, service and products we received throughout the project. We just scheduled our first annual maintenance appointment with Fresh Start HVAC services and will be doing so in the future."

Fresh Start HVAC Brings Comfort with a Combi Boiler Installation in Mississauga

We recently installed a combi boiler system for a client in Mississauga, providing in-floor heating throughout their home. This type of heating system is a game-changer, offering both comfort and efficiency that traditional heating systems just can’t match.

The Benefits of a Combi Boiler with In-Floor Heating
1. Energy Efficiency:
A combi boiler heats water on demand, meaning no energy is wasted keeping a tank of water hot. This makes it highly efficient and can lead to significant energy savings over time, especially when paired with in-floor heating.

2. Consistent Comfort:
In-floor heating provides a steady, even warmth that spreads throughout the entire space, unlike forced-air systems that can create hot and cold spots. Plus, it’s silent—no noisy fans or air blowing around.

3. Space-Saving Design:
Combi boilers take up less space than traditional heating systems since they eliminate the need for a separate water heater. This is ideal for homes where space is at a premium.

Why Customers Love In-Floor Heating
Comfort:
Homeowners rave about the luxurious comfort of stepping onto a warm floor during cold weather. It’s a subtle but highly effective way to heat a home without the dry air often associated with forced-air systems.

Efficiency:
Because heat radiates from the floor upward, in-floor heating can be more efficient at keeping rooms warm, even at lower thermostat settings. This means lower heating bills without sacrificing comfort.

Aesthetics and Air Quality:
In-floor heating is hidden beneath the floors, freeing up wall space for furniture or décor. Plus, it doesn’t circulate dust or allergens, making it a great choice for those with allergies or respiratory concerns.

Why This is a Great Idea for Your Home
If you’re looking for a heating system that’s energy-efficient, reliable, and offers unmatched comfort, a combi boiler with in-floor heating is an excellent choice. Not only does it provide efficient heating for both water and space, but it also enhances the comfort and feel of your home in a subtle, sophisticated way.

At Fresh Start HVAC, we love seeing our clients enjoy the benefits of modern heating solutions like this. If you’re considering upgrading your heating system, we’re here to help you find the perfect fit for your home.

Heat Pumps vs. Traditional AC & Heating Systems: Which Is Right for You?

When it comes to heating and cooling your home, you have two main options: heat pumps and traditional AC/heating systems (like furnaces paired with air conditioners). Both have their own benefits, and homeowners choose each for different reasons. Let’s break down the key differences and help you decide which might be best for your home.

Heat Pumps: The All-in-One Solution
A heat pump is a versatile system that can both heat and cool your home by transferring heat rather than generating it. In the summer, it works like a traditional air conditioner, removing heat from your home. In the winter, it does the reverse by pulling heat from the outside air and bringing it indoors.

Benefits of Heat Pumps:

Energy Efficiency: Heat pumps are incredibly efficient because they transfer heat rather than create it, using less energy overall. This can lead to significant savings on energy bills, especially in moderate climates.
One System for All Seasons: Heat pumps provide both heating and cooling, so you only need one system for year-round comfort.
Environmentally Friendly: Because they don’t rely on burning fuel, heat pumps produce fewer carbon emissions than traditional heating systems, making them a greener choice.
Why Customers Like Heat Pumps: Homeowners appreciate the efficiency and eco-friendliness of heat pumps. Plus, having one system that handles both heating and cooling simplifies maintenance and frees up space that would otherwise be used for separate systems.

Traditional AC & Heating Systems: The Tried-and-True Combo
A traditional setup usually involves a furnace for heating and an air conditioner for cooling. Furnaces burn fuel, like natural gas, to generate heat, while air conditioners use refrigerants to cool the air in your home.

Benefits of Traditional AC & Heating Systems:

Reliable Heating in Cold Climates: Traditional furnaces excel in colder climates, where heat pumps may struggle to efficiently pull heat from the outside air. Furnaces can generate consistent warmth even in freezing conditions.
Powerful Cooling for Hot Summers: Central air conditioners provide reliable cooling during scorching summers, especially in regions with high heat and humidity.
Familiar Technology: Many homeowners are more familiar with traditional systems, and technicians can easily service and repair them.
Why Customers Like Traditional Systems: Homeowners who live in regions with extreme temperatures often prefer traditional systems for their reliability in both very cold and very hot weather. These systems have a long history of dependable performance.

The Final Verdict: Which One Is Better?
The “winner” really depends on where you live and your specific needs. If you’re in a region with mild winters, a heat pump might be the better choice due to its efficiency and environmental benefits. On the other hand, if you live in a place with harsh winters or very hot summers, a traditional AC and heating system may offer the reliability and performance you need.

At Fresh Start HVAC, we can help you determine which system is the best fit for your home and lifestyle. Whether you’re considering a heat pump or a traditional system, we’re here to provide expert advice and top-notch installation.

Fresh Start HVAC Turns Up the Efficiency with a Rinnai Tankless Water Heater in Markham

We recently replaced a 40-gallon water heater in a Markham home with a Rinnai tankless system, and this installation was a favorite of ours. We like these systems because they provide endless hot water while taking up much less space.

The client loved the upgrade, too, as it will save them money on energy bills and provide a more efficient, on-demand hot water supply.

The benefits of these units are clear: they are energy-efficient, last longer than traditional water heaters, and provide continuous hot water without the need for a large storage tank. Homeowners love tankless systems because they reduce energy consumption, free up space, and offer reliable performance.

If you’re thinking of upgrading your water heater, consider a tankless system for all these great benefits!

Fresh Start HVAC Takes on the Heights for a Unique AC Installation in Vaughan

A client in Vaughan needed a creative solution for their new AC installation. The challenge? They required the unit to be mounted off the ground and up higher to keep a walkway below clear and accessible.

We stepped in and installed a 2-ton Keeprite AC, securely mounting it above the walkway, ensuring safe passage underneath. While this setup makes it a bit trickier to access for service, we're not afraid of heights! The client now has efficient cooling without sacrificing the usability of their walkway.

If you have a unique setup that requires outside-the-box thinking, Fresh Start HVAC is here to help!

We recently helped a homeowner in Scarborough who couldn’t get proper heating or cooling to a section of their home. Running ductwork from the other side of the house wasn’t an option due to cost and complexity.

Our solution? We installed a ductless split system, which allowed the homeowner to both heat and cool the area without the need for any additional ductwork. These systems are perfect for spaces that are hard to reach with traditional HVAC setups, offering energy efficiency and year-round comfort in one compact unit. They’re great for additions, basements, sunrooms, or any area that needs its own climate control.
