After more than 20 years working as a contractor, I've learned that successful projects aren't just about building beautiful spaces, they're about earning people's trust.

Throughout my career, I saw too many homeowners left frustrated by poor communication, unexpected costs, and projects that didn't match what they were promised. I also found myself helping friends, family, and clients navigate those situations because I believe people deserve honest advice and someone who genuinely has their best interests at heart.

That's why I created Honest Contractor.

Whether it's a renovation, addition, commercial project, project management, or custom woodworking, my goal is simple: deliver quality work while making the process clear, transparent, and as stress-free as possible.

A porch transformation we’re really proud of.

We rebuilt this porch while preserving the original character of the home—from structural framing to custom finish details.

The original heritage posts were repaired with custom Douglas fir joinery. The curved cedar railing was built to match the home’s original design along with new cedar decking with a layout that flows naturally around the curved porch.

It looks like it was always meant to be there.

Another deck project completed.

One thing the homeowner shared with us during the quoting process was that we weren't the cheapest option—and that's okay.

They chose us because we took the time to walk through the project, identify potential issues, answer questions, and provide a clear plan from start to finish.

As with many renovation projects, a few surprises came up once the original structure was removed, but our team was able to address them without delaying the project. In fact, we completed the build ahead of schedule.

For us, a successful project is about more than the finished deck. It's about clear communication, reliable timelines, thoughtful planning, and delivering quality work that homeowners can enjoy for years to come.

We're grateful for the opportunity to bring this outdoor space to life and wish our clients many great summers on their new deck.
