No bar stools? Make it storage πŸ—„οΈ

Our clients eat at their dining table, so the island's bar seating and w**e rack were wasted space. On Day 2 we closed in the back of the island with new cabinets, turning a spot nobody sat at into storage they'll use every day.

Bar seating or extra storage, which would you pick? πŸ‘‡

Next: the new counters. Follow along.

Why we'd never put black quartz in a busy kitchen πŸ–€βž‘οΈπŸ€

It looks incredible in photos. In real life, it shows every fingerprint, every stain and every water spot. Our North Vancouver clients love to cook and were wiping their counters five times a day. So we went white, with soft veining that hides everyday mess, and mitred the waterfall edge on the island so it reads as one solid piece.

Black or white counters, which would you live with? πŸ‘‡

Next: island storage. Follow along.

How we plan a shower so you never see a bad cut πŸ‘€

Before a single tile goes down, we stand in the shower with our tile team and map every grout line: full tiles at the base and in the centre, a laser to find the real centre, grout lines carried over the curb so the entrance has no cuts, and the small pieces hidden under the vanity.

Would you have gone with the tiler's idea? πŸ‘‡

Day 2: here's the game plan πŸ“‹

Demo's done and the counters are measured. Today we're swapping every lower cabinet door (bye, walnut) and building new storage onto the back of the island, where the w**e rack they'd never use used to be.

Walnut or a lighter wood, which would you pick? πŸ‘‡

New doors revealed tomorrow. Follow along.

Brand-new home… so why rip out the kitchen? πŸ€”

Our clients had just moved into a 2024-built townhome in Central Lonsdale. Great layout, great appliances, but black quartz counters that show every crumb, every water spot and every stain. Wiping them down was a full-time job.

Would you keep black counters in a busy kitchen? Yes or no πŸ‘‡

10 days to change this kitchen ⏱️

Our clients just moved into a brand-new Central Lonsdale townhome, and the first thing they wanted gone was the kitchen: black quartz that shows every crumb, two-tone lowers they didn't love, and a bar they'd never use. We gave ourselves 10 days.

Black counters or white counters, which would you live with? πŸ‘‡
