Vancouver Bathroom Renovation: Day 09

The most challenging days of any renovation project are the first two and the last two. First two can be challenging because it’s rare not to uncover unexpected surprises once the demolition dust has settled. The last two are because it’s typically a big push to complete all the finishing, painting, detail work, and cleaning. There are many people involved and especially in small spaces like a bathroom the sequencing needs to be 💯

Vancouver Bathroom Renovation: Day 08

Today we installed our 12”x24” shower niche, as well as grouting all floor and wall tiles. For the grout, we opted to color match our existing tiles as closely as possible for a cohesive aesthetic.

Pro Tip: Light grey is one of the best colors to choose for your tiling and grout for ease of maintenance and longevity. 🤫

Vancouver Bathroom Renovation: Day 07

With tiling completed, we have a few final steps before our new bathroom is ready. Today we’re upgrading all the electrical fixtures including switches, GFCI outlet, recessed lighting, and the bathroom fan.

Vancouver Bathroom Renovation: Day 4

With our drywall and Dense-Shield on, it’s time to start applying Schluter waterproofing on our walls in wet areas. In addition to the waterproof Dense-Shield, this is the second layer of our waterproofing system on the walls to ensure this new bathroom, is not just a pretty face. It’s a pretty face with multiple layers of waterproofing😉
