❌ A lot of people assume envelopes fail because of the big assemblies.

Usually it’s the opposite.

Most issues show up at the transitions… windows, pe*******ons, or where different materials meet. Those spots move, expand, contract, and if they aren’t detailed properly they become the weak points.

That’s why we spend so much time thinking about these details before siding ever goes on.

🔨 We thought this one was pretty straightforward at first.

Then you open it up and start seeing how things were framed, how windows were set, and sometimes it’s just… off.

On this house the office window and the master above it were about an inch and a half out of line. You could probably side over it and move on.

But you’d see it.

So we reframed it.

Wasn’t in the original scope, but once you know it’s wrong, it doesn’t make sense to hide it behind finishes.

That’s how renovations grow. Not because someone’s chasing extras. Just because once you see it, you fix it.

This is the stage most people drive past and don’t think twice about, but this is where all the important stuff happens.

☑️ Air barrier tied in.
☑️ Membrane carried through the tricky spots.
☑️ Windows detailed so water has somewhere to go.

Once the siding goes on, you don’t see any of this, which is kind of the point 🫡
