Hardy, early-blooming lilac species that thrives in Ontario. Often blooming in mid-spring, about 7-10 days earlier than common lilacs. 
Broad, heart-shaped leaves that turn deep red-purple in autumn, providing rare fall color for lilacs.

Great choice for: foundation plantings, shrub borders, or as a specimen plant. 

Generally thrive in full sun, but can tolerate light shade.
