Grief is a garden. If left alone, it will continue to grow wild, encroaching on pathways, trampleing what was once there. Grief, like a garden, must be tended and cared for. Removing unwanted vegetation, pruning, fertilizing, encouraging despite the overwhelming task list. Storms will come and frost will hit. Plants will die making room for new additions. Grief will loom, a consistent reminder of the work needed every day, but you’ll see that even the smallest of tasks make a difference to help the garden to thrive.
Grief is a garden, not to be neglected and forgotten. And so is life.
