PSA ‼️📣 Concrete Needs Time to Cure
We always try to educate our customers throughout the installation process, but we’ve recently realized that something we thought was common knowledge may not be as well known as we assumed.
While quick-setting concrete allows fence posts to be installed and fence construction to begin shortly after installation, the concrete does not reach its full strength overnight. Like all concrete products, it continues to cure and gain strength over time, with full curing taking up to 28 days.
During this curing period, it is important not to intentionally shake, wiggle, rock, or attempt to pull posts out of the ground. Doing so can disturb the bond between the post and the concrete, potentially causing damage that would not otherwise occur.
It’s also completely normal to see surface cracking in concrete around fence posts, especially when using Quickrete products. These hairline cracks are a natural part of the curing process and are not an indication of a faulty installation.
We hope this post helps clear up some common misconceptions about fence post installations and concrete curing. A little patience goes a long way toward ensuring your fence remains strong and secure for years to come.
