Hawk Labs has tested its coatings with Sterlion antimicrobial technology at an external laboratory under controlled conditions. The coatings with Sterlion antimicrobial technology demonstrated excellent performance in protecting the surface from the growth of harmful bacteria, both Gram Positive and Gram Negative.

It's important to note that Sterlion antimicrobial technology has not been tested against Covid-19 and currently, there is no method available by which it could be tested. However, although we don’t have any data, the microbiology suggests that Sterlion antimicrobial technology is likely to affect the lipid coating and the essential components required for Covid-19 to function. Hawk Labs’ position is that coatings with Sterlion antimicrobial technology are an effective weapon to protect the coating from the harmful effects of bacteria, and would complement good surface disinfection and hygiene practices.
