Modern Japandi Living Room – Interior Visualization

About this project
The concept blends Japandi calm with warm minimalism, organizing the room into two distinct yet connected zones: a gathering and TV end, and a quieter reading and games end. Natural oak flooring sets a soft, neutral base; lime-washed walls, light stone accents, and black details echo the kitchen aesthetic for whole-home cohesion. The TV is visually de-emphasized through concealed joinery, so art and tactile materials lead the composition.

The brief required a photoreal design plus technical drawings ready for immediate build. Key constraints were: keep the existing ceiling, seat 8–10 people in the TV zone and 4 in the reading zone, align with the kitchen's oak and stone palette, and hide the TV when not in use.

Client priorities included a sliding pocket door with fluted glass, a feature bookcase with hidden storage, and joinery details suitable for fabrication.

Über das Projekt
Das Konzept verbindet japandische Ruhe mit warmem Minimalismus und gliedert den Raum in zwei eigenständige, aber miteinander verbundene Zonen: einen Gesellschafts- und TV-Bereich sowie eine ruhigere Lese- und Spielecke. Natürlicher Eichenboden bildet eine weiche, neutrale Basis; kalkgewaschene Wände, helle Steinakzente und schwarze Details greifen die Küchenästhetik auf und schaffen so eine gestalterische Kohärenz im gesamten Haus. Der Fernseher wird durch verdeckte Tischlerarbeiten visuell zurückgenommen, sodass Kunst und haptische Materialien die Komposition prägen.

A modern apartment interior design combining warm textures, concrete surfaces, wood, leather, marble, and indirect lighting. Photorealistic visualization of all key living spaces.

The main concept was to achieve harmony between light, material, and comfort, combining raw concrete surfaces with wooden flooring, neutral tones, and accent lighting to define a sophisticated urban space.

Objective / Problem

• Develop a coherent interior visualization for all key spaces: living room, kitchen, dining area, and bedroom
• Create a modern but livable atmosphere emphasizing material contrast, including concrete, leather, marble, and wood
• Apply a lighting design strategy that enhances spatial perception and comfort through indirect and spot lighting
• Maintain visual balance through careful selection of furniture colors, artwork, and textures

The project began with a layout study that aligned circulation and sightlines between living and dining spaces.

• Building a unified palette of gray concrete walls, tan leather, and black marble elements
• Using vertical glass partitions to subtly separate functional zones without visual interruption
• Integrating decorative sculptures and artwork to create focal points that soften the rigidity of modern design
• Simulating natural light fall and artificial lighting distribution with V-Ray physical camera settings
