Our goal is to create bags for people in a modern environment and if you’re looking for a bag that suits your way of life, then QWSTION can get you there. The QWSTION story started in 2008, when Sebastian Kruit joined forces with the creative dynamic of Swiss industrial designers Christian Kaegi and Fabrice Aeberhard, graphic designer Matthias Graf and joker Hannes Schoenegger. We had all been sea

rching for a bag that closes the gap between functional sports bags and elegant fashion bags. As nothing on the market could satisfy our needs, we founded our brand, in the former industrial district of Zurich, Switzerland. Our desire to create products that are for everyday use and independent in style led to the development of bags that work just as well on a bicycle as in a business meeting. We question the norm in matters of look, function and construction and pursue the integration of these aspects in our designs.

Climate change is still the biggest, most fundamental challenge humanity is facing – Climate Week offers a platform to discuss strategies and solutions.

We've contributed to Climate Week New York a couple of times, and we're very excited that Climate Week Zurich is finally happening.

At the QWSTION Studio in Zürich we’ll be co-hosting three events on the 6th, 7th and 9th of May. Slide for details and check the link(s) in our bio to sign up – only few spots are left, as of today.

Our biggest Tote Bag ever - made and ‘worn’ by our repair master Omar to transport goods between our studio and the store in Zürich (close, but still 3km in distance).
This bag carries about 100L and is one of many experimental pieces that we’ve made over the years.

Teamwork makes the dream work - here’s the QWSTION and Bananatex team at our studio at , end of 2025. Hannes and Helene are missing in the picture, and as it goes, things change. Last week it was time for us to say goodbye to Luana, who has been responsible for our communications. She decided to pursue new challenges and we wish her the best for her journey.
Here’s a big THANK YOU to Luana, and to all former team members who have been questioning norms and finding better solutions with us over the years.
And thanks for the great photo .ch

First of all, we need good people around us - people that support and challenge us. Community is key. Of course we need a place to call home, healthy food, clean water, access to education, equal opportunities for anyone. Then we need to think of future generations and how we can make sure life on our planet can thrive - we need to change our system from the ‚take, make, waste’ norm to ways in which resources can circulate. Designing for circularity is part of the solution, but we also need the right government and regulation in place to make circularity work. Let’s drive positive change.

For Motoki Kinebuchi (), sustainability is practical. In Nagano, he grows rice and vegetables with his family. His approach comes down to respect and gratitude — what you receive from the land, you return to it. He calls it circulation: keeping resources in motion rather than extracting them.

"Sustainability creates impact when it connects to people and local realities. It must be designed into systems, not added afterward."

Our critic Motoki Kinebuchi () has spent over 20 years working across global brands — from early CSR to the ESG strategies companies navigate today. Now leading by sustainability at a Japanese textile trading company, his focus is on the gap between corporate commitments and what actually happens on the ground, working directly with NGOs and NPOs to close it.

The images show him wearing our Roll Pack in Sage in Habuka, a mountain village in the Japanese Alps, during the winter season.

As a sustainability leader at a major Japanese textile trader, Motoki () knows that impact isn’t measured in targets alone. It’s about circulation — returning knowledge, resources and support to the environment and community they came from.

Whether he’s advising on ESG strategy, supporting local wine production in Chikuma City or tending to his family’s crops in Nagano, the intention stays the same.

Find out more about our critic Motoki via the link in the bio.
