3D Biocement Printing

A 1 m² 3D Biocement Printing (3DBioP) demonstrator, achieved through a biofabrication process that combines robotic extrusion with microbially induced calcium carbonate precipitation (MICP) to create porous mineral building components under ambient conditions. The geometry was developed to balance porosity, connectivity, surface area, and printability, offering a low-embodied-energy pathway for architectural applications such as shading systems and partition walls.

From grain to shell — recycled marble dust, 3D printed.

This piece is 3D printed from recycled marble dust: the same industrial byproduct that usually ends up as landfill. Binder jetting lets us turn that dust back into solid, structural form, layer by layer, without molds or casting.
