🔹 RCC Column Junction – Footing Reinforcement Details

A strong RCC column-to-footing junction is essential for safely transferring structural loads from the column to the foundation. Proper reinforcement detailing improves strength, durability, and earthquake resistance.

Key Details:

✅ Continue main column bars into the footing with the required development length (Ld).

✅ Provide upper and lower footing reinforcement as per the structural design.

✅ Use closed stirrups in the column (typically Ø8 mm @ 150 mm c/c) for confinement.

✅ Maintain the specified clear cover (generally 25 mm for footing reinforcement).

✅ Ensure proper anchorage and lap lengths according to design codes.

✅ Typical footing dimensions shown: 600 mm width and 300 mm thickness (for illustration only).

✅ Use corner/edge reinforcement where required to improve crack resistance.
