What is TPE?

⏩Thermoplastic elastomer, also known as TPE, is sometimes considered thermoplastic rubber, or TPR. TPE combines the elasticity of rubber and the processing properties of plastic, bringing innovative solutions to a wide range of industries.

Characteristics and Applications for TPE Cable

⏩TPE cable is durable, flexible, and strong in tough conditions. It is typically used in applications where it is subjected to large bends without damage or deformation. TPE cable also has good weathering and chemical corrosion resistance and can be used for a long time in harsh environments without performance degradation.
TPE cables are used in industrial applications both indoors and outdoors. Such as machines, large appliances, motors, mining, power, and lighting. TPE cables can also be used in cranes, as they can withstand mechanical loads.

SJOW vs SJOOW Cable

SJOW and SJOOW are multi-conductor flexible rubber cables, both of which can be used as portable cords in a wide variety of applications requiring flexible and durable cables, such as portable tools, portable equipment, portable lights, small motors, battery chargers, control wiring circuits, fire alarm controls, and temperature control systems.

The only difference is that SJOOW cable has oil-resistant insulation, which makes it more oil-resistant.

Nissei’s portable cords are equipped with CPE rubber jackets. Our UL62-certified models include S, SV, SO, SJ, SJO, SVO, SOO, SOW, SOOW, SJOO, SJOW, SVOO, and SJOOW.

Tinned Copper Wire vs. Bare Copper Wire

Tinned copper wire is coated with a layer of tin. The tin coating protects the wire from oxidation in humid and rainy conditions, high-heat environments, and some soil types.

Bare copper and tinned copper wires are equally conductive, but the latter protects against moisture, oxidation, and corrosion. Tinned copper wire conductors have easy solderability and can extend the cable's life. Tinned copper wires are preferred for humid and high-temperature environments.

Bare copper wire is a copper wire with no coating. Bare wire is also known as grounding wire. It possesses superior conductive properties. But bare copper wire is prone to oxidation over time much more than tinned copper. Oxidation of bare copper wire leads to its degradation and failure in electrical performance. Bare copper wire is best for use in dry environments.
