Our colleagues had a fantastic evening at the School of Rock AllStars Tour stop in Milwaukee, WI! Hal Leonard has enjoyed a longstanding relationship with School of Rock, collaborating across educational resources, digital content, and the music instrument category. As a sponsor of this year’s AllStars Tour, we were also proud to help equip the stage by providing much of the backline gear used throughout the performances.

Events like these are a great reminder of what strong partnerships in music industry can achieve. Together, we’re helping create more opportunities for young musicians to learn, perform, and take the next step in their musical journey – and we’re proud to be part of it!

Hear it. Play it.
We’re excited to introduce two new audio recognition features now available to all creators. We built them both, so you spend less time searching for scores and get right to it - playing music!

🎹 Audio-to-Score tool, currently in beta, turns audio into a ready-to-play score in about a minute. Just upload an MP3 file or paste a link to an external source, and get an editable sheet-music file in MSCZ format. You can then edit and save it in MuseScore Studio. It’s powered by an AI model we built and trained in-house, and already recognises solo piano and acoustic guitar, with more instruments on the way. Available now on desktop.

📱 A new Shazam-style recognition feature goes the other way: hear a song, hit the recognition button in the app, and instantly find the matching score in MuseScore’s library. Live now on iOS and Android.

As Maxim Barchukov, Product Owner at MuseScore, perfectly put it: “Our job is to make it easy to start playing, without spending time searching for the right score. You hear a song, you have the audio, and within a minute you have a score you can play.”

Our events at the Limassol office are becoming part of the local music scene – and we love seeing where this is going!

This time around, we started with an open talk from Max Naumov, founder of Jammers, followed by our IT Kvartirnik, where 11 musicians – from solo performers to full bands – took the stage.

The next day brought something completely different: a vocal masterclass with jazz singer Margarita Costa, focused on voice, breathing, stage presence, and the joy of singing together.

With every new format, we’re finding new ways to connect people, support local talent, and create shared experiences around our common passion for music. And what does it take to make events like these happen?

Our colleague Marina Glebovskaya, who helps bring them to life, shared her personal insights. ➡️

“My checklist for an event people actually want to be part of:
✓ A charismatic speaker who can genuinely engage the room and share practical experience
✓ A good understanding of what your audience needs, and how your event can deliver it
✓ Equipment checked, with a sound engineer ready to make everything work
✓ Snacks and drinks ordered (never underestimate this one!)
✓ Clear goals and a clear definition of success of the event for the business

And maybe the most important ingredient: creating an environment where people actually want to connect with each other. When people stay to talk, come back for the next event, or just message me afterward to say thank you or to suggest next creative collab, I know it was all worth it.

Events in our Limassol office are all about creating opportunities to explore creativity, try something new, and connect through music. Recently, we hosted a guided group vocal practice led by Natalia Borodulina, who shared her approach to voice work and self-expression. It was a chance to step outside everyday routines, listen more closely, and experience music not as a performance, but as a tool for personal exploration.

Today, Muse Group announced the next chapter in its growth journey, following the successful conclusion of Francisco Partners’ investment in the company.

Francisco Partners initially invested in Muse Group in 2023. During the partnership, Muse Group expanded its global footprint, strengthened its technology capabilities, completed the transformational acquisition of Hal Leonard, and delivered consistent performance across its brand portfolio.

Moving forward, Muse Group will continue to partner with and acquire products that support its mission. The company will look for businesses with loyal communities, strong product foundations, high-intent users, and the potential to become more valuable as part of the Muse Group ecosystem. Muse Group also remains committed to investing in product innovation and Al-enabled creative workflows.

The hackathon is this weekend – there’s still time to sign up and enter our challenge!

You don’t have to be a developer to join. If you’re involved in a music tech project in any way – design, product, research, music, creative direction, or simply bringing ideas to life – you’ll fit right in. We’re looking for anyone who can contribute to the next big MuseHub hit.

And if you can’t make it to Lisbon in person, you can still participate remotely by joining a team that’s attending onsite.

At Muse Group, we’re passionate about music – and we see it as a shared language that brings people together. That’s why contributing to the musical community matters to us, not only globally but also through local, real-life moments. Regular events at our Limassol office are one way we do that.

Recently, we hosted an open talk with an Emmy-winning music editor Lena Glikson, who joined us online from Los Angeles. We walked through real examples of how music for film and TV comes together, explored what a music editor actually does, and talked about how creative decisions shape what we hear on screen.

Talking about music naturally turned into playing music. The evening continued with our IT House Concert – part of an ongoing tradition of cozy, community-driven live shows.
