With this page I hope to unite people that take care for and love animals and nature. With this page I want to show the beauty of nature and animals, I hope, I´m able to show, that ALL creatures SHARE this world with us. I hope my pictures are a little proof of my LOVE for animals and nature:-) ... This page is still under construction and there is a lot more to do... I think, this page will always be under construction because of the lots of changes happening in the nature, finally because of us humans. The value of humanity is reflected in how they deal with those who depend on it. This statement is true but just until mankind has finally realized that this world does not need us, but we need this world. This thought should lead us also to realize how ridiculous we humans are behaving when we wage war against each other and fight ... because of religion or whatever .... . because we all are living on this little planet that is buzzing through the endless universe...- and the desire to survive peacefully and to live together and should unite us all! 🦃 Gobble gobble! In June, our Bird House team took six young turkeys under their wing. These iconic birds have complex social structures, a large vocal repertoire and distinct personalities. Keepers have learned our birds like to be together and are curious about everything! . .
The recovery of wild turkeys is considered one of North America’s greatest conservation success stories! Wild turkeys almost went extinct in the early 1900s because of overhunting. They were saved by protecting habitat, enacting protection laws and relocating birds from thriving areas to areas with suitable habitat but fewer birds. Today, there are about 7 million wild turkey in North America. We look forward to sharing more native bird conservation stories when the Bird House reopens next year!
