Addressing insufficient concrete cover no longer requires costly and time-consuming structural removal. We’re leveraging an innovative, manufacturer-approved approach that redefines project efficiency and long-term asset protection.
The challenge is clear: inadequate concrete cover leads to accelerated carbonation and risks reinforcement corrosion, often necessitating extensive concrete removal, repair, and lengthy curing periods. This creates significant schedule pressure and budget overruns.
Our solution utilizes the Eliminator system, a certified membrane developed by GCP / Saint-Gobain. This system can be applied directly to concrete, acting as a powerful CO₂ diffusion barrier equivalent to an impressive 208 cm of concrete thickness at just approximately 3 mm Dry Film Thickness (DFT). This eliminates the need for structural alterations and associated delays.
We implement two strategic technical solutions:
1. **Standard 2-Layer Eliminator (~2.0 mm DFT):** Applied to all standard areas, offering robust CO₂ protection and visual QA through contrast colors. It’s a proven, fast application method.
2. **Local Reinforced 3-Layer Eliminator (~3.0 mm DFT):** Used exclusively in clearly identified and QA-verified areas with insufficient cover, providing an enhanced safety margin and stronger barrier precisely where critical protection is needed.
Both methods are fully tested and approved by GCP / Saint-Gobain, ensuring compliance with 120-year design intent, stringent QA standards, and manufacturer warranty. The result is a faster, safer, and fully documented path to achieving the required CO₂ resistance and long-term durability, without compromising project timelines.
