It’s not flashy. But it’s honest.

Standard, unbranded packaging means our boxes and filler material get produced in large, efficient runs, not small custom batches made just for us. Larger runs use less material and energy per unit, which is better for the environment too.

The cardboard itself is untreated and uncoated.
That makes it easier to recycle than a printed or laminated box, since there’s no ink or coating to remove first ♻️

The only branding you’ll find is a small sticker on the box: your order details, and our logo. Just enough to tell you what’s inside.

It’s not flashy. But it’s honest, and it’s one less thing made just to look good on a shelf.

A folding prop relies on natural forces, not mechanics.

When you start the engine, centrifugal force pushes the blades open, already at low RPM. It’s strong enough to keep them open even when you’re in reverse.

As long as the engine is running, the blades stay put.
Turn it off, and water pressure takes over, folding the blades back into a streamlined shape.

If you're still running a fixed propeller, that feeling isn't in your head.

A fixed prop drags through the water under sail, even in neutral. That means you need a decent breeze just to overcome that resistance before the boat even starts moving. You'll have to start the engine earlier than you'd like and earlier than someone with a folding propeller.

A folding propeller works differently.

With the blades folded together when the engine is off, there's almost nothing dragging through the water, so it takes far less wind to keep pressure in the sails.
More hours sailing, fewer hours motoring.

How to make sure the prop doesn't fall off (or parts of it)

4 key steps to be aware of:

👇 Saildrive:
1. Tighten the shaft nut to the specified torque (see the torque chart included with the installation guide)
2. Tighten the shaft nut locking screw to the specified torque
3. Bend the tab washer as shown in the manual (see slide 5). Only bending one side is NOT enough!
4. When reinstalling: apply Loctite® 243 to the tapered pivot pin locking screws, shaft nut locking screw, cover plate screws, and anode screw. Note: for best results clean the screws before applying Loctite®

👇 Shaft:
1. Degrease the taper before mounting
2. Tighten the shaft nut to the specified torque (see the torque chart included with the installation guide)
3. Tighten the shaft nut locking screw to the specified torque
4. When reinstalling: apply Loctite® 243 to the tapered pivot pin locking screws, cover plate screws and anode screw (But NOT the shaft nut locking screw). Note: for best results clean the screws before applying Loctite®
