Ydanelis Dominguez Ramirez (IYAYA Chocolate) – The Next Vanilla Contract Farming Plantation

We’re excited to announce our next vanilla project: a partnership with Ydanelis Dominguez Ramirez, founder of IYAYA Chocolate. Located in the heart of the country’s cacao production region, San Francisco de Macorís, Yda’s small plantation and workshop are renowned for crafting high-quality, lovingly made chocolate products.

Now, this humble yet inspiring operation is set to expand with the cultivation of around 1,000 vanilla plants. But this is just the beginning – big plans are already in motion!

Yda collaborates with the beekeepers of La Loma Quita Espuela to create an incredible vanilla honey using our Puronilla vanilla. This honey is not only a gourmet delicacy but also serves as a medicinal product. It’s nearly miraculous in its uses:

As a wound treatment, it’s exceptionally effective.
When taken regularly, it acts as a life elixir, benefiting the entire body.

Benjamin: First Plant Delivery to Villa Altagracia ❤

We’ve got great news from Benjamin’s project! The first plants have arrived at his Vivero, which we built together in mid-November.

Out of the 1,000 vanilla plants we cultivated for him on our farm, the first 200 plants have reached the growth stage and begun to sprout – such a beautiful sight! 🌱 They’re now ready to be delivered to their final location, where they will continue to grow in the Vivero, reaching over a meter in height before being transplanted onto the farm.

The tutors (support plants) for the vanilla vines were planted several weeks ago. These have already taken root and are growing into living climbing supports. At the top, we’re creating a small canopy of leaves to provide pleasant shade for the vanilla during peak sunlight – as it thrives best without direct sun.

Benjamin has proven to be an excellent, reliable, and professional partner. It’s truly a joy to work with him! We’re confident that his plantation will become a model of successful implementation.

Fabulous Resort – Phase One Begins

Exciting news from Fabulous Deleny’s resort in the heart of the La Loma Quita Espuella National Park: implementation is officially underway! Do you remember the breathtaking views from this stunning location?

This week, we began harvesting bamboo from the valley to construct the Vivero (nursery), where vanilla seedlings will grow before being planted on the farm. This marks the start of an exciting project: three hectares and 3,000 vanilla plants. 🌱💚

What’s even better? You can be part of this journey!
Fabulous offers the opportunity to invest in his plantation through Vanilla.Valley. While two hectares are already funded, there’s still room to join the third hectare.

New Cambium, Villa Magante: A 20+ Hectare Vanilla Farm in the Making! 🌱

It’s been a while since our last post, and a lot has happened! With everything running smoothly on our farm in the Blue Mountains as we await the harvest at the end of January, we now have time to focus on our expansion projects. Today, we’re excited to introduce you to one of the largest: New Cambium – a unique initiative nestled in the coastal hills of Villa Magante on the northern side of our tropical island.

What is New Cambium?
New Cambium is an eco-focused community developed by nature lovers who have built homes on 120 hectares of land to live in harmony with the environment. Currently, 28 homes have been constructed, some serving as year-round residences, others as vacation homes. The vast land, however, isn’t just for living—it’s a haven for sustainable agriculture.

The estate includes:

15,000 cacao trees of original genetics, lovingly cared for
Expansive areas of untouched tropical forest and bamboo
Our Contribution: A Vanilla Farm Like No Other
The New Cambium board has entrusted us to develop a 20-hectare vanilla farm. This project is financed by the homeowners and the NC Foundation through our company, Vanilla.Valley. Additionally, approximately 20% of the project remains open for external investors, which we’ll be making available in the coming weeks.

Construction of the Nursery (Vivero)
The photos show the start of the construction for the Vivero, our on-site nursery. Here, we’ll cultivate the necessary vanilla plants directly on location, ensuring they acclimate to the local conditions such as temperature fluctuations, humidity, wind, and light.
The Vivero will be built in a nature-friendly manner using locally sourced bamboo—a highlight of our work and a new milestone for us! Designing and implementing such a project for the first time has been an absolute joy.

First Growth Spurt: Today, our young plants received their first nourishment – in gentle doses and from biodynamic production. Additionally, we are using fungal spores as a preventive measure to avoid any critical situations. A good start in life is crucial, especially if they are to bloom soon.

The roots are well-developed, and the young plants have grown by an impressive 150% in the first 20 days – some even more. With the next 10,000 plants arriving from the lab next week, we are more than satisfied with our initial experiences. It's truly wonderful to witness this progress.

The project can begin – exciting times ahead.
**The first 10,000 young plants from our own InVitro production have finally arrived on the farm after 14 months of preparation! 🌱🎉 Another 100,000 will follow over the next 12 months.**

These plants are propagated from the best 50 vanilla orchids we have and are now being acclimated to life in the real world in our Vivero – with fresh air, real sunlight, water, and wind. Once they reach about 30 cm in height, they'll be transferred to the partner farms under the name of their owners, who contribute them to their chosen farm project through the purchase of an NFT. 🌍✨

Our Taino vanilla stands out with its distinctive red tip ❤️

This innovative closure is not only beautiful, it prevents mold formation but also addresses the primary infection risk at the pod's attachment point, where it typically starts. Additionally, it significantly slows the drying process, keeping the pods fresh and elastic for a much longer time. Over 90% of dehydration usually occurs through this vulnerable tear point, which is now completely sealed.
