It knows that every wave will pass.

Są momenty spokoju i te, gdy siła uderzeń zdaje się nie mieć końca.

A jednak skała trwa,
zanurzona w tym, co większe niż ona sama.
Wie, że każda fala przeminie.

One of my paintings will have the honor of being presented at the International Exhibition “Art Beyond Boundaries” (Borja, Spain).

With gratitude, I share this moment as part of a space co-created by artists from over 20 countries, in collaboration between the artistic communities of Japan and Spain, and the International Association of SUMI led by Tohun Kobayashi together with Harumi Tohsei Kobayashi .tohsei_suibokuga

With appreciation, I extend a respectful gesture towards the Spanish artists and organizers, .zaragoza, , , and and all those who are part of this beautiful initiative.

At this moment, I do not yet know if I will be able to be present in person,
however, my presence is there, in the painting, in the intention, and in the heart that remains with this space.🙏❤️☀️

Guardian of the Morning – Asagao (朝顔), Japanese Morning Glory

Asagao (朝顔) blooms in the morning.
In the first hour of the day the world remains unspoken – untouched by words, plans, or noise. Everything is only just beginning, yet already feels complete.

Within this space of silence appears Asagao.

It is like a thought arriving before the first sentence.
Like light touching the paper before the brush sinks into ink.

Because morning makes no promises, it simply opens the door.
And for a brief moment Asagao stands there like a beautiful guardian of the beginning.

After waking, look at Asagao and allow its blooming to become the beginning of your day.

Strażnik Poranka – Asagao (朝顔), powój japoński

Tusz, farby gansai i 24-karatowe złoto na ręcznie czerpanym japońskim papierze kōzo

Asagao (朝顔) rozkwita o poranku.
W tej pierwszej godzinie dnia świat pozostaje jeszcze niewypowiedziany – nieobciążony słowami, planami ani hałasem. Wszystko dopiero się zaczyna, a jednak już jest pełne.

Właśnie w tej przestrzeni ciszy pojawia się Asagao.

Jest jak myśl, która przychodzi przed pierwszym zdaniem.
Jak światło, które dotyka papieru, zanim pędzel zanurzy się w tuszu.

Bo poranek nie obiecuje, on tylko otwiera drzwi.
A przez krótką chwilę Asagao stoi w nich jak piękny strażnik początku.

Po przebudzeniu spójrz na Asagao i pozwól, aby jego rozkwit stał się początkiem twojego dnia.

This painting was created shortly before my return to Japan.

I painted it with ink and delicate Japanese pearlescent pigments, full of light, colour and a quiet shimmer, exactly like the feeling that was in me at that moment.

A white bird lowers its flight above the water between the mountains.
It is not in a hurry.
It knows this place. It is returning.

There is joy in this painting, the joy of returning to a place one loves, and which reveals itself anew each time.

Today I see that this painting does not tell a literal story of travel.
It speaks about returning home, a home that is sometimes not a place but an inner state, a moment when the flight is still in the air, yet the heart is already where it knows it belongs.

Ten obraz powstał tuż przed moim powrotem do Japonii.

Namalowałam go tuszem oraz delikatnymi perłowymi japońskimi pigmentami, pełen światła, koloru i cichego iskrzenia, dokładnie takiego, jakie wtedy było we mnie.

Biały ptak, który obniża lot nad wodą pomiędzy górami, nie jest w pośpiechu.
Zna to miejsce. Wraca.

W tym obrazie jest radość, radość powrotu do miejsca, które się kocha, a które za każdym razem odkrywam na nowo.

Dziś widzę, że ten obraz nie opowiada podróży w sensie dosłownym.
Opowiada o powrocie do domu, który czasem nie jest miejscem, lecz stanem wewnętrznym, o chwili, gdy lot jeszcze trwa, ale serce już jest tam, gdzie rozpoznaje swój dom.

Podczas międzynarodowej wystawy Art Beyond Boundaries w National Art Center w Tokio moja praca została uhonorowana imienną nagrodą jurorską 島尾新賞, przyznaną przez profesora Aratę Shimao, związanego z Gakushūin University w Tokio, historyka japońskiej sztuki i wybitnego znawcę malarstwa tuszowego sumi-e.

Przyjmuję to wyróżnienie z wdzięcznością i radością, jako okazane zaufanie oraz potwierdzenie drogi, którą idę, drogi zakorzenionej w tradycji i otwartej na żywy dialog między kulturami.

Sztuka jest wspólnym językiem ponad granicami kultur i doświadczeń, przestrzenią spotkania, szacunku i piękna.

Z wdzięcznością idę dalej, dzieląc się tym, co zostało mi powierzone, wierząc, że malarstwo tuszowe jest drogą pokoju i uważności.

During the international exhibition Art Beyond Boundaries at the National Art Center, Tokyo, my work was honoured with the named jury award 島尾新賞, granted by Professor Arata Shimao, affiliated with Gakushūin University in Tokyo, a historian of Japanese art and a distinguished authority on sumi-e ink painting.

I receive this distinction with gratitude and joy, as a sign of trust and a confirmation of the path I am walking, a path rooted in tradition and open to a living dialogue between cultures.

Art is a shared language beyond borders of cultures and experiences, a space of meeting, respect, and beauty.

With gratitude, I continue, sharing what has been entrusted to me, believing that ink painting is a path of peace and attentiveness.
