This is what arrives at your property when you call DRY-EXPERT. 🚐

A fully equipped team. Properly prepared. Ready to do the job right — not just quickly.

There's a difference between a contractor who turns up with a tin of paint and a contractor who shows up with the right equipment, the right diagnosis, and the right materials for your specific problem. That difference is what determines whether the result lasts.

We work across the Costa del Sol — villas and residential properties from Málaga to Marbella and beyond. Every project starts with a proper assessment and ends with a result we're proud to put our name to.

This is what proper rising damp treatment looks like from the inside.

The old plaster came off first. Not because it was cosmetically damaged — because leaving it in place would have meant treating over the problem rather than getting to the source of it. 🔍

What you can see here: walls taken back to bare masonry, a fresh render coat in progress, and a row of BKM Mannesmann injection cartridges along the base of the wall. German-engineered materials. Placed methodically, not hurriedly.

There's no shortcut visible in this photo. No paint. No filler. ✅ Just the kind of work that produces a result that lasts.

The homeowner won't see this stage. But it's the stage that determines whether the job holds — in five years, in ten years, and beyond.

If you're dealing with rising damp, or you're not sure what you're dealing with, start with a proper assessment.

When rising damp has been active in a wall for years, the plaster doesn't just look damaged — it is damaged.

Salts carried up through the masonry and damp rose within. Even after the source of moisture is addressed, that old plaster keeps its moisture. It has to come out.

Christian getting to work stripping back the affected render at a property here on the Costa del Sol — making sure the wall is properly prepared before reinstatement begins.

It's not the most glamorous part of the job. But it's one of the most important. 💪

✅ Damp & salt-contaminated plaster removed
✅ Masonry fully exposed and assessed
✅ Proper preparation for long-lasting solutions
✅ No shortcuts

You can only build a clean, lasting finish on solid preparation.

This is what rising damp can look like — and what it looks like when it's been properly dealt with. 🏠

The before: a lower external wall in a villa on the Costa del Sol. Salt crystallisation, chipped paint and significant plaster damage. Moisture had been working its way up through the base of the wall — gradually, quietly, making itself very much at home.

The after: you can see the result for yourself.

What you can't see in the photo is the diagnostic work that made it last. Finding out exactly where the moisture was coming from — and why — is what determines whether a result like this holds up over time. ✅

That's what we're here for.

A small damp patch. Left for a month. Then six months. Then a year.

Here's what most homeowners don't realise: moisture problems don't wait.

💧 What starts as a patch spreads — pulling salts through the masonry, breaking down plaster, and weakening the structure behind it.

🪵 If moisture reaches timber — beams, joinery, subfloors — the damage moves from cosmetic to structural. Timber decay is slow, hidden, and expensive to put right.

🌡️ On the Costa del Sol, the extremes work against you. Summer heat accelerates moisture movement inside walls. Properties left closed hold humidity. And the first autumn rains drive water into defects that were invisible all season.

By the time a moisture problem looks serious, it's usually been active for months — sometimes years.

The good news: catching it early is almost always simpler, cleaner, and less expensive than catching it late.

Addressing moisture early is always less expensive than waiting.

If there's mould on your wall, painting over it feels like the obvious first step.

The room looks better. The patch disappears. Problem solved — until it comes back.

And it almost always comes back. 🔄

Here's why: mould isn't the problem. It's the signal. The moisture that caused it is still in the wall — and paint alone can't stop it. In some cases, painting over a damp surface actually traps moisture behind it, which accelerates damage to the plaster underneath.

Six months later, the mould is back — often in a larger area than before.

The only thing that actually works is understanding why the moisture is there in the first place. That's where proper diagnosis comes in. Not guesswork. Not a tin of mould-resistant paint. A proper look at what's actually happening inside the wall.

If mould keeps returning in the same spot, that's your home telling you something worth listening to. ✅

Your wall looks fine. It feels dry.
And yet — there could be a moisture problem hiding inside it. 🔍

This is one of the most common misconceptions we come across.

Homeowners assume that if a wall looks normal and feels dry to the touch, there's nothing to worry about.
But moisture in walls often works in layers.
The surface can feel completely dry while deeper inside, moisture levels are elevated and damage is quietly building.

By the time visible signs appear — staining, peeling paint, or mould — the problem has usually been active for months.
Sometimes longer. At that point, the impact on your home and your indoor air quality is already well underway.

This is why a proper moisture assessment matters.
Not a quick meter reading against the surface — but a thorough investigation that looks at the full picture. 💧

💧 Your AC has been running all day. It's also been producing water — and most homeowners have no idea where it goes.

AC condensation is normal.
But if drainage fails, that water doesn't disappear — it tracks into walls, ceilings, and cavities.

Slowly. Silently.

🔍 The signs are easy to miss: a faint ceiling stain, a soft patch in plasterwork, a smell that won't go away.
By the time you notice them, moisture has usually been building for weeks.

We're not AC engineers — that's not what we do.
But when we investigate moisture damage in summer, an air conditioning system is often part of the explanation.
It's a source most homeowners simply wouldn't think of.

If something doesn't feel right in your villa, it's worth finding out why.
