We are thrilled to announce Casa Entrevías, our latest project at STUDIO.NOJU, featured in the October issue of Arquitectura y Diseño magazine (). The project involved the complete transformation of a traditional two-story social housing unit in the Entrevías neighborhood of Madrid.

The renovation focused on maximizing natural light and spatial openness by removing the original load-bearing walls and replacing them with a lightweight metal structure. The ground floor was reimagined as a continuous living, dining, and kitchen space, with the staircase repositioned to the perimeter, creating an uninterrupted visual connection from the entrance to the patio at the back. This intervention enhances the sense of space and flow throughout the 80-square-meter home.

About Torres Blancas

A key part of the project involved expanding the existing apartment’s exterior area on the two floors from 15 sqm to 80 sqm to recover the amount of exterior outdoor space that existed in the original unit before multiple past renovations that incorporated to the interior space.

This expansion added terraces that are characterized by a new curved floor-to-ceiling glazing and slatted crimson shutters. These open onto gleaming green ceramic tiles that take cues from the 1960s interiors and form new built-in benches, fountain and planters that follow the terraces’ meandering contours.

House of the Year by Fuera de Serie

Thrilled to announce that “About Torres Blancas” has been awarded House of the Year by and .

Our intervention on a two stories apartment in Torres Blancas reflects a contemporary language that remains in constant dialogue with the original apartment design from the 60s.

The intervention in this heritage building demonstrates our personal take on how to work on architectures with degrees of protection and the value of preservation in its most contemporary narrative. Not only built elements has been preserved or recovered such as the exterior terraces that were closed and now are the heart the house but also intangible ones such as the amber light cast through the facade glass-bricks that now floods the interiors.
