Construction has officially commenced on the $12.5 billion Bishoftu International Airport (BIA) in Ethiopia, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects to become Africa's largest aviation hub. Located 45km southeast of Addis Ababa, the project broke ground in January 2026 and aims to handle 60 million passengers annually by 2030, eventually expanding to 110 million.

Key details regarding the Bishoftu International Airport construction:
Project Scope: The project, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects to be a "Mega Airport City," includes four runways, a 660,000 terminal, and parking capacity for 270 aircraft.
Timeline: Phase one is targeted for completion by 2030.
Funding & Investment: Ethiopian Airlines is funding 30% of the project, with additional investment from international lenders, including the African Development Bank, targeting a total cost of $12.5 billion.
Infrastructure & Location: The site is 45km southeast of Addis Ababa, chosen to alleviate congestion at the current Bole International Airport. A high-speed rail link is planned to connect the new hub to Addis Ababa in roughly 25 minutes.
Capacity: Upon completion of all phases, the airport will handle 110 million passengers per year, more than four times the current capacity of Addis Ababa's Bole International Airport.

መዋቅር ጥናት ውስጥ ጥቂት ስለ Seismic (Earthquake) ታሳቢነት።

በሀገራችን ራሱን የቻለ የዲዛይን ኮድ አለን ካሉን የዲዛይን ኮዶች መካከል አንዱ ስለ Seismic Design የሚንመራበት ES EN 1998-1:2015 Design of Structures for Earthquake Resistance የሚለው ይገኝበታል። የመዋቅር ዲዛይን የሚሰራው ባለሙያም ዲዛይኑን የሚያጸድቀውም መኮንን በዚሁ መሰረት ዲዛይን ተሰርቶ ወደ ግንባታ እንዲገባ ፈርመው ይሰጣሉ። ገንቢውም በዚህ ተመስርቶ እንዲገነባ ይጠበቅበታል።

ታሳቢዎች
በመዋቅር ዲዛይን ታሳቢ የሚደረጉ ጭነቶች (Action loads) መካከል መሰረታዊ የሚባሉት Dead load, Live load Wind Load እና Seismic actions ሲሆኑ እንደ ሁኔታው እየታየ የተዘረዘሩት loadዎች በጋራ የሚያመጡት ጉዳት ከግንዛቤ የሚያስገባ እንደ አስፈላጊነቱ ከ100 load combination ይሰራል።

ወደ መሬት መንቀጥቀጡ ስንገባ ለህንጻ ዲዛይም በሬክተር ስኬል እየተለካ ሳይሆን ቀድሞ በተጠና አካባቢያዊ ተጠባቂ ሁኔታ የተከፋፈሉ ዞኖችን ታሳቢ አድርጎ በዚያ አካባቢ የሚጠበቀውን ከፍተኛ የምድር እንቅስቃሴ (Peak Ground Acceleration) ታሳቢ በማድረግ በተሰሩ ቀመሮችና ለመቀመሪያ በተዘጋጁ Softwares በመታገዝ ነው።

ወደ ዲዛይን ታሳቢዎች ስንገባ
፩) ህንጻው የሚገባበት አካባቢ ለመሬት መንቀጥቀጥ ያለው ተጋላጭነትን ያገናዘበ ዞን (Seismic Zone) ( አዲስ አበባ ዞን 3 ሲሆን የሰሞኑ የአብዛኛው መሬት መንቀጥቀጥ መነሻ አፋር ክልል ብዙው ዞን 5 ነው)
፪) እያንዳንዱ ህንጻ ስንመለከተው በአርማታ በመሰራቱ ግትር ቢሆንም የመሬት መንቀጥቀጥን ለመከላከል እንዲችል የተወሰነ ያክል ተለማጭ እንዲሆን የሚያስችል ስሌት (Elastic Analysis) ይሰራለታል።
፫) የህንጻው መሰረት የሚያርፍበት የመሬት (አፈር/አለት)
ሁኔታ ( Ground Type) ታሳቢ ይደረጋል
፬) የሚገነባው ህንጻ መዋቅር ዓይነት ( Structural Type and Behavioral Factor) የጥናቱ አካል ነው
፭) የህንጻው ቅርጽና ቁመና (Structural Regularity) ከግምት ውስጥ ይገባል
፮) የህንጻው መዋቅር አካላት Beam, Slab, Column, Wall, Number of Story, Number of Bays እና Foundation Types በልዩ ሁኔታ ታሳቢ ይደረጋሉ
፯) ለግንባታ የምንጠቀማቸው ቁሶችና ጥራታቸው ( በተለይ የአርማታ የብረት ) በየመስፈሪያቸው የዲዛይኑ ግብዓት ሆነው ያገለግላሉ።

ከላይ የተዘረዘሩትና ሌሎችም ታሳቢዎች ታክለው በተሰራው የኮምፒውተር ሞዴል በሚሰጣቸው ከመቶ በላይ load combinations የከፋ ጉዳት ሊያደርሱ የሚችሉትን እንዲቋቋም ተደርጎ ፣ የተለያዩ ማሻሻያ የሚያስፈልጋቸው Modifier Factors ተካተው፣ የ Stability Check ተደርጎ የስትራክቸራል ዲዛይን ድሮዊንግ ይሰራል።

እንዲህ ተሰርቶ ለምን እንንቀጠቀጣለን? ለሚለው መልሱ ከላይ የዘረዘርኩት ማስረጃዎችን ታሳቢ ተደርጎ ከተሰራ ዲዛይን ላይ ሶስት ሞዴሎች ተያይዘዋልና ተመልከቷቸው።

እንቅስቃሴዎቹ በተለያዩ load combinations ህንጻው ራሱን ሲከላከል የሚያሳይ የትክክለኛ ዲዛይን animation ነው። ይህ እንቅስቃሴ በአይናችን ልናየው ባንችልም የተሰቀሉ መብራቶች ሲንቀሳቀሱ፣የተቀመጠ ዕቃ ሲወድቅ፣ የተከፈተ መስኮት/በር ሲዘጋ...እንመለከታለን እኛም ህንጻው ላይ እንደተቀመጡት ዕቃዎች ንዝረቱ ይሰማናል እንጂ የህንጻውን እንቅስቃሴ ልንመለከት አንችልም ግን እየተንቀሳቀሰ ነው።

ህንጻው ተንቀሳቀሰ ማለት ዲዛይኑ ትክክል አይደለም ማለት ወይም ይፈርሳል ማለት አይደለም። ዲዛይን በተደረገው ሞዴል መሰረት እራሱን እየተከላከለ ነው።

የተያያዙት ተንቀሳቃሽ ምስሎች በመዋቅር ዲዛይን መስሪያ software የተሰራ ትክክለኛ ህንጻ ሞዴል ሲሆን ቀዩ ቀለም የ Retaining wall እና Shear Wall ሲያሳያ ቀጫጭን መስመሮች ኮለሞችና ቢሞችን ያሳያሉ። በቢሞቹ መሃል ስላብ አብሮ አንድ ላይ ይንቀሳቀሳል።
