We’re looking forward to next weekend, where we’ll have invited Malawian artist, researcher and designer-maker Mtamandeni Mtambalika in the studio for a two-week exploration of traditional African pottery.
Split over two Saturdays, participants will explore traditional approaches to forming, surface decoration and mark-making and participate in a traditional pit firing. You’ll have the opportunity to experiment with different approaches and develop your own clay forms while gaining a greater understanding of the cultural knowledge and traditions behind them.
Spaces are still available and we’d love to see you there!
