A bit of personal news…

I’m incredibly proud to say that RBK Architecture has been shortlisted for the Construction Consultancy of the Year Award.

To see the business recognised like this means a lot. Every project, every referral and every recommendation has helped RBK Architecture grow and it’s a great feeling to know that all the hard work is being recognised.

Being shortlisted is something I genuinely didn’t expect and it’s a reflection of the amazing clients who have trusted me with their projects, the contractors and professionals I’ve worked alongside and everyone who has recommended RBK Architecture to friends and family.

Whether we bring home the award or not, this already feels like a huge achievement and one I’m really proud of.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me and the business so far. It really does mean a lot.

🏡 Putting their own stamp on their new home!

Our clients recently purchased this property and wanted to create a bright, open family area that would completely change how they use the ground floor.

The new rear extension includes two sets of corner bi-fold doors, creating a brilliant connection between the house and garden and providing the perfect space for hosting those summer garden parties! ☀️🥂

We also incorporated several internal alterations, including opening up a load-bearing wall to create a much larger open-plan kitchen, dining and family area.

Although the project includes both an extension and structural alterations inside the house, we were able to cover all the work under the same Building Warrant application, keeping the approval process as straightforward as possible for the client.

Small extension, big difference.

The brief was to open up the existing kitchen and dining area to create a proper family space that worked better for everyday living.

By utilising the existing French door and side light opening, we avoided major structural alterations to the main house, helping to keep costs down for the client while still creating a bright, open-plan family area.

The extension was designed to blend seamlessly with the existing property, making it look as though it has always been there.

At the same time, we converted the garage to create an additional bedroom, a utility room and a shower room, making much better use of the existing footprint.

A great example of how a relatively small extension and some clever planning can completely transform the way a home works for a growing family.

Sometimes I work on projects I’m genuinely jealous of. This garage conversion into a home gym is definitely one of them!

What was once an underused garage has been transformed into a dedicated home gym, creating a practical and motivating space tailored to the client’s needs.

Garage conversions are one of the most effective ways to maximise the potential of your home, turning existing space into something that adds real value and enhances day-to-day living. In this case, the client now has a fully equipped training space just a few steps from the house – no membership fees or commute required.

Another exciting residential project progressing for RBK Architecture.

This side and rear extension has been designed to completely transform the property and create a much more functional family home. The proposed layout introduces a brand-new open kitchen and family area to the ground floor, alongside a new utility room and shower room to improve day-to-day living and maximise the available space.

Upstairs, the extension creates a spacious new bedroom complete with a walk-in wardrobe, adding both practicality and long-term value to the property. The design has been carefully developed to blend with the existing house while providing a modern and spacious internal layout filled with natural light.

Detailed 3D visualisations have also been produced to help the client fully understand how the extension will look and feel internally and externally before construction begins. These renders are a fantastic way to bring the design to life and give clients confidence throughout the process.

Excited to share these 3D visuals for a new bespoke home, prepared for a property developer who is now on site and ready to begin construction.

These visuals were created as part of the marketing strategy for the project, helping to clearly communicate the design intent, material palette and overall feel of the finished home before work begins.

Combining natural stone, vertical timber cladding and clean contemporary forms, the design strikes a balance between modern living and a more traditional rural character.

High-quality visuals like these are a powerful tool when bringing a project to life, whether for marketing, client presentations or planning support.
