Whew, it is scorching out there today! ☀️
It’s almost too hot to be out in the community garden, but our thirsty plants needed some serious love.

We are so incredibly grateful to the Whitchurch Community Allotment group for kindly donating our very first water butt! 🙌 It’s not connected just yet, but it means Jack will finally be able to store some water over the summer and make those watering runs a whole lot easier.

Despite the heat, things are looking absolutely beautiful here—we even had a lovely little visit from a female Small White butterfly today! 🦋✨

I work closely with Jane and Dementia Friendly Hampshire. Please consider donating to this wonderful cause!
Jane works so hard to give people affected by dementia opportunities to garden, cycle and even sail! Life does not end after a diagnosis.

🍓 Big flavors come in small spaces! 🌿
Not one, but two strawberries are officially here, with plenty more on the way!

This little green corner is proof positive that you don’t need a massive garden plot to grow your own food—a container, a windowsill, or a tiny balcony is all it takes to cultivate a little joy.

What’s thriving in the containers right now:

- Sweet Strawberries: The early birds are ripening beautifully.
- Summer Bedding Plants: Bringing all the vibrant color and attracting our favorite pollinators.
- Fresh Herbs: Smelling incredible and ready to elevate summer dishes.

There is something so incredibly grounding and therapeutic about watching a small plant yield something delicious. Whether you are managing a single pot or a whole patch, nature always finds a way to reward a little care.

How is your summer growing going? What’s thriving in your spaces right now? 👇

Summer is officially in bloom! 🌼🐝
It’s so lovely to look back and see the progress from my dementia-supportive gardening home visits.

I recently helped a client get their garden "summer ready," and the results speak for themselves. Doesn’t it look fabulous?!

We intentionally left the Honeywort and Marsh Marigolds, and the local bees are definitely thanking us for it today. 💛

🌿 Looking for tailored, patient, and supportive gardening help for a loved one? I offer specialised home visits designed to keep individuals living with dementia connected to the joy of nature.

🌻 A little potter this morning at the community garden! 🌧️🌱

Despite dodging a few showers, the Dementia-Friendly Gardening Group at Andover Museum had a busy Tuesday morning!

Take a look at what we've been up to:

🌸 Our bedding plants are absolutely thriving!
🍓 We spotted our very first ripening strawberry.
🫛 The Broad Beans are officially taking off.
🪵 Jack set up our brand-new addition—a patio pond!

Granted, the pond is looking a bit underwhelming at the moment, but we’re crossing our fingers that the pond plants will take soon! 🤞🏼💧

Want to join us? 🙌

Our friendly, relaxed gardening group meets every Tuesday from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Andover Museum community garden. Whether you're a seasoned green thumb or just fancy a chat, a cuppa, and a gentle potter in the fresh air, we’d love to welcome you.
